Elon Musk’s daughter announces departure from the US after Trump’s presidential victory

Donald Trump is poised to become the next President of the United States, a development that has sparked discontent among many, including Elon Musk’s daughter.

Musk has been an ardent supporter of Trump throughout his 2024 presidential campaign.

As the CEO of Tesla, Musk has frequently lauded the Republican figure on social media, and following Trump’s win over Kamala Harris, he expressed his optimism on Twitter by stating, ‘the future’s going to be fantastic’.

However, Musk’s estranged transgender daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, who is 20 years old, seems to have reservations about this optimistic outlook.

Wilson and her twin brother were born in 2004 to Musk’s first wife, Justine Musk.

On the evening of November 6, Wilson shared on Threads her intention not to remain in the US for much longer.

Her concerns are not limited to Trump’s presidency but also include the nature of the supporters he has attracted over the years.

Wilson stated: “I’ve thought this for a while, but yesterday confirmed it for me. I don’t see my future being in the United States.

“Even if he’s only in office for four years, even if the anti-trans regulations magically don’t happen, the people who willingly voted this in are not going anywhere anytime soon.”

Despite not mentioning her father in the post, Wilson and Musk have long had a strained relationship, often exchanging barbs online.

In September, Wilson took a swipe at Musk over his comments following Taylor Swift’s announcement of support for Harris in the US election.

In response to Swift’s endorsement, Musk tweeted: “Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life.”

This remark was criticized as ‘creepy’ by many social media users.

Wilson responded to Swift’s endorsement and commented on her father’s peculiar post.

She wrote: “The timing for the Taylor Swift endorsement of Kamala Harris honestly could not have been better. Can’t wait to see the Swifties at the polls. Vote blue.

“Also, yes, I saw ‘the tweet’. Heinous incel nonsense is in fact heinous incel nonsense.

“I don’t really have anything to add to it, it’s just abhorrent. That much is obvious and if you don’t see how then you’re part of the problem.

“I would just like to say to my audience members, don’t let people talk to you like that. It’s disgusting, it’s belittling and incredibly sexist. You deserve better.”
