Some McDonald’s enthusiasts are voicing their surprise after discovering the ingredients in Sweet’ n’ Sour sauce.
Everyone has their preferred McDonald’s order memorized. If a friend were to enter your room and give you nine seconds to share your order for an Uber Eats delivery, you would be ready without hesitation.
Despite McDonald’s long-standing status as a fast-food staple, many patrons remain unaware of the specific ingredients in some of their favorite sauces.
In the case of Sweet ‘n’ Sour sauce, it turns out there is a particular fruit in the mixture that many might not have anticipated.
A TikTok video has resurfaced, featuring radio hosts from Melbourne, Australia, who made this surprising disclosure to their listeners.
Lauren Phillips delightedly surprised her co-host by revealing the ingredients while he was enjoying a classic combination of McNuggets and Sweet ‘n’ Sour sauce.
Lauren prompted her co-host Jason Hawkins to exclaim, ‘today was a good day,’ as she presented the McDonald’s order.
“Jason, you need to get into those nuggets and get into in particular your favorite sauce,” she encouraged.
Jason, eager to indulge, began dipping his nuggets in the sauce, consuming them rapidly.
“Would you believe, it is actually apricot flavor?” Lauren informed him.
Jason paused, visibly disheartened, and put down his partially eaten nugget, lamenting that he ‘hates apricots’. Now that he knew about the apricot in the sauce, he claimed he could taste it.
Lauren continued to tease him about spoiling his favorite order, and TikTok users shared in the sentiment.
“You have ruined my favorite sauce,” one distressed user commented.
