Dwayne Johnson addresses accusations of unsanitary habit to save time on movie sets

Dwayne Johnson has addressed allegations concerning his peculiar and somewhat unpleasant habit.

Earlier this year, Johnson became a topic of discussion after The Wrap published a report about the former wrestler and actor related to his latest film, “Red One,” which recently premiered in theaters.

This movie was initially scheduled for a release in 2023 but was postponed to November 2024. The report suggested that Johnson contributed to this delay.

Sources who spoke to The Wrap stated that Johnson often arrived late on set, sometimes showing up as much as eight hours behind schedule.

Additionally, it was noted that to save time, the 52-year-old actor would urinate in water bottles instead of using the restroom.

“On set, away from his trailer, if he needs to pee, he doesn’t go to the public bathroom,” an unnamed source informed the publication.

Months after the report, Johnson has addressed the issue personally.

In an interview with GQ about his purported unusual urinating practice, he acknowledged: “Yeah, that happens.”

Referring to the reports of his lateness, Johnson continued: “Yeah, that happens too.”

However, he clarified that the delays weren’t as extensive as eight hours.

“But not that amount, by the way,” he stated. “That was a bananas amount. That’s crazy. Ridiculous.”

Director Jake Kasdan of “Red One” also confirmed that Johnson was occasionally tardy during the filming of the Christmas movie but emphasized that the WWE icon ‘never missed a day of work’.

Kasdan shared with GQ: “He has a lot going on. He can be late sometimes, but such is Hollywood – that’s the case with everybody.

“Honestly, I’ve made three big movies with him. I’ve never seen him be anything but great to every single person on the set.”

In his discussion with the magazine, Johnson also talked about taking responsibility.

He mentioned: “I’ve said a thousand times: ‘Hey, I’m here. Come and ask me. And I’ll tell you the truth.'”

Most people are occasionally late to work, though the water bottle habit might be harder to relate to…

Aside from “Red One,” Johnson is currently involved in his upcoming project “The Smashing Machine,” where he portrays UFC Champion Mark Kerr.

As Kerr, the wrestler appears dramatically different in the film, as shown in a first look shared by entertainment company A24 in May.

An official release date has not been set, but the movie is anticipated to be released in theaters sometime next year.
