After his bout with Jake Paul, Mike Tyson is considering adding to his collection of tattoos.
The 58-year-old former heavyweight champion faced off against Jake Paul, the 27-year-old former Disney Channel star, in a much-anticipated fight.
Jake Paul won the match by accumulating more points, leaving boxing fans who had eagerly awaited the showdown satisfied. The event was hosted at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and was available for global audiences to stream on Netflix.
With both Tyson and Paul now facing temporary bans from fighting, fans are curious about their next moves. Tyson has already hinted at his plans, which involve getting more tattoos.
In an interview with The New York Post hours before the fight, Tyson mentioned, “I’m thinking about some tattoos.” He added, “I think I just want to do my face, my whole face.”
Tyson, who already sports a tattoo around his left eye and cheek—acquired back in 2003—is now contemplating further additions.
When probed about what his next facial tattoo might be, Tyson said: “I’m not going to tell you, but it’s going to be interesting.”
In the lead-up to the fight, both contenders were vocal, with Paul even stating Tyson ‘must die,’ while Tyson asserted he wasn’t ‘intimidated or afraid’ of Paul.
Despite Paul’s victory, Tyson is not ruling out future appearances in the ring.
Questioned about whether this defeat marked his retirement, Tyson replied, “I don’t know. It depends on the situation.” He added, “I don’t think so.”
He commended Paul’s performance, recognizing him as a ‘good fighter.’
“I didn’t prove nothing to anyone, just myself,” Tyson remarked. “I’m not one of these guys who goes out to please the world, I’m just happy with what I can do.”
USA Today reports that Tyson is set to earn millions despite the loss, providing ample funds for his next tattoo venture.
With earnings reportedly reaching $20 million from the fight, as stated by Tyson’s friend and former UFC champion, Henry Cejudo, he is financially equipped for his tattoo plans.
In contrast, Paul hinted at his earnings during an August news conference, stating he intends to ‘make $40 million and knock out a legend.’
