‘Incredibly intense’ film hailed as ‘greatest movie ever’ with viewers confessing they ‘cried like a child’

If you’re a John Krasinski enthusiast, you may already be familiar with this film.

Known for his iconic role as Jim in The Office, as well as being named PEOPLE Magazine’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ in 2024, Krasinski is celebrated for his comedic performances in movies like Leatherheads, It’s Complicated, and Monsters vs Aliens.

Nonetheless, Krasinski has also taken on more serious roles, such as in A Quiet Place, which he directed, Promised Land, and Detroit.

It’s also worth noting that he has a knack for action roles, having portrayed Jack Ryan in the TV series since 2018.

In 2016, Krasinski starred in a biographical war movie that has been described as ‘super intense’ and ‘one of the best movies’ by fans.

That’s quite the compliment.

If those remarks pique your interest, you might want to know it was directed by Michael Bay, of Pearl Harbor and Transformers fame.

When it comes to depicting war and explosions, few know it better than Bay.

So, what is the film in question?

The movie is titled 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, and you can check out the trailer here:

13 Hours is based on a book with the same title and tells the story of six members of the US Army’s Annex Security Team during the 2012 attack in Benghazi, Libya, as they endeavor to defend the American diplomatic compound.

The film didn’t fare exceptionally well with critics, earning a 53 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, but audiences rated it much higher at 83 percent.

Similarly, discussions on the Netflix Banger’s Facebook group echoed this sentiment.

One user in the group asked for opinions on the film as they intended to watch it once their ‘power supply is restored’.

Another user commented: “One of the best movies, watched it so many times makes me sad and angry,” while someone else added: “Watching it live as it unfolded was horrible. They did an excellent job with the movie.”

The reviews continued to pour in, with a third stating: “Super intense,” and a fourth declaring: “Best movie ever.”

“I bawled like a baby. Just to get out of the theater so I could breathe a minute. Very intense,” shared another viewer.

Someone else mentioned they had watched it ‘several times’, saying: “So good!”
