With a ‘crazed look in his eyes,’ Diddy reportedly said five words to a 13-year-old girl before he and Jay-Z allegedly assaulted her.
Back in 2000, outside the MTV Video Music Awards, a young schoolgirl was eager for a taste of celebrity life. She waited outside the Radio City Music Hall at Rockefeller Center, Midtown Manhattan, hoping to catch a glimpse of the stars.
A civil complaint has been filed by a woman identified only as Jane Doe, who claims she was raped by the two rappers. According to her account, as she approached the limousines transporting guests to the event, a driver, allegedly working for Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, told her that Diddy ‘liked younger girls’ and that she ‘fit what Diddy was looking for’.
She was subsequently invited to an afterparty happening at a residence in New York City.
The complaint, initially submitted in October without specifically naming Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter), has been updated to include him. PEOPLE obtained the civil complaint that accuses Combs and Carter—both now 55—of raping her while a female celebrity watched the incident unfold at the party.
Upon reaching the party, the complaint alleges that the 13-year-old girl was asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement before being offered a drink, which Jane Doe now suspects was drugged.
Later during the event, the accuser states that Combs gave her a ‘crazed look’ and allegedly whispered five chilling words to her: ‘you are ready to party’.
Jane Doe claims Combs then pushed her, causing her to fall. As she ‘stumbled’ to regain her footing, he allegedly ‘threw her on the bed’, according to the complaint.
Carter is accused of removing her clothes, holding her down, and raping her while the unnamed female celebrity and Combs observed. The complaint further claims that after Carter finished, Combs raped her as well, with Carter and the same female celebrity watching.
Combs is currently in custody as he awaits his trial scheduled for May 5 of the following year. He was indicted by a grand jury after his arrest at the Park Hyatt hotel in Manhattan in September. He faces charges of racketeering and sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, which he denies.
Carter has firmly denied all allegations made by Jane Doe’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, issuing a public statement which can be read fully below:
An excerpt from his statement reads: “These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!!”
The rapper expressed concern about the impact of these claims on his reputation and family, noting that one of his daughters is old enough to hear about the allegations from her friends.
Buzbee also responded on Twitter, clarifying that his client did not seek financial compensation.
His statement concludes: “As far as the allegations in the complaint filed, we will let the filing speak for itself and will litigate the facts in court, not in the media.”
