Ariana Grande explains reviewing Wicked contract with co-star Cynthia Erivo prior to filming

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have formed a strong bond while promoting Wicked. Recently, Grande shared details about the ‘pact’ they have created.

If you haven’t noticed, Wicked has been highly visible in recent months.

The film stars Grande as Glinda and Erivo as Elphaba.

During many interviews, the duo has been open about their relationship, often becoming emotional while sharing personal thoughts, which has resonated with fans.

At a recent SAG-AFTRA foundation event, Grande revealed that they have a mutual understanding to support each other and maintain honesty in their friendship.

She explained that when they received their contracts, they reviewed them together to ensure mutual contentment before filming began.

Grande shared: “We talk a lot about this pact that we made to take care of each other and to be really honest with each other about anything that were to come up.

“But I don’t think people really get how granular we got and how fully we mean that.

“When I got my contract I called her and I was like, ‘Hey, let’s go through this thing.

“‘Let’s go beat per beat through this together and make sure that we’re aligned in what we need.’

“Because if you need something, we need it together. I want us to have each other’s backs.

“Like, your problems become my problems, and mine become yours.”

The audience applauded Grande’s remarks, and social media users expressed admiration for her approach.

This declaration comes amid social media speculation over the actresses’ salaries.

Some fans were stirred by rumors suggesting Grande earned $14 million more than Erivo for her role.

However, a Universal spokesperson refuted these claims.

They told The Hollywood Reporter: “Reports of pay disparity between Cynthia and Ariana are completely false and based on internet fodder.

“The women received equal pay for their work on Wicked.”
