Enthusiastic fans have noticed a familiar-looking piece of luggage at the airport.
Airports are filled with countless pieces of luggage, so what makes this one stand out?
Anyone who has watched Netflix’s new movie Carry-On, reminiscent of Die Hard, would understand why.
Starring Taron Egerton and Ozark’s Jason Bateman, the film premiered on Netflix on December 13 and has been well-received by audiences.
Currently, the action-filled film boasts an 85 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer, with some viewers online labeling it as a perfect ’10/10′.
On the Facebook page Netflix Bangers, one viewer praised Carry-On: “Definitely a 10/10… have you guys seen this movie yet?”
Another comment read: “It’s like Die Hard but with a TSA agent, really enjoyed it!”
A third viewer expressed their admiration and hope for a sequel: “Very, very well done! Definitely gives me the Die Hard vibes and that’s an absolute compliment. Possibly room for another one?”
Returning to the photo in question… As suggested by the movie’s title, there’s a specific piece of luggage that Bateman’s character is trying to get Egerton’s character, transportation security agent Ethan Kopek, to smuggle past security.
On Netflix Bangers, someone posted about spotting luggage at the airport that resembled the one from Carry-On: “At the airport and I just saw this. Can’t make it up.”
“You better not get on that flight lol,” someone humorously replied.
“Quick call the FBI,” joked another viewer familiar with Carry-On.
Someone else added: “Give it back to Jason Bateman!”
Many others who recognized the Carry-On reference shared their enjoyment of the Netflix movie.
Although the film has been well-received by fans, some viewers have noticed a continuity error.
In one scene, a mother is holding a brown-haired baby at the airport, but in a subsequent scene, the baby she holds is suddenly bald.
The observant TikToker who noticed the inconsistency joked that Netflix assumed ‘no one will notice’ if a different baby was used.
Despite this, the TikToker still highly recommended the film.
They commented: “We recommend watching Netflix’s new film Carry-On. Very enjoyable especially, if like me, you know that Die Hard IS a Christmas film. Imo its got some serious 90s vibes!!!”
