Woman stunned after finding extremely valuable items in cabinet purchased on Facebook Marketplace

A Texas woman hit the jackpot when she bought a cabinet via Facebook Marketplace, uncovering valuable items inside.

This past January, Amanda DeWitt shared with her 58,000 TikTok followers how she snagged an exquisite antique Louis XVI buffet cabinet from the second-hand site for only ‘one ninth’ of the original cost.

The real surprise came when the cabinet arrived at her home. Upon opening one of its compartments, Amanda experienced what she described as the ‘craziest thing’ of her life.

In her video, she pans to the antique buffet, describing it as ‘absolutely stunning, perfect’ before recounting her incredible discovery that left her ‘jaw hit the floor’.

“So when I first get it, I’m unlocking the cabinets, as one does, like checking all the drawers, making sure everything is ok”, she continued.

“Please look what I found when I unlocked one of the cabinets”, she then said as she shows herself opening the left-hand side of the regal cabinet.

She found a stack of luxurious-looking orange and blue boxes inside.

To the amazement of her followers, Amanda revealed that the boxes held a complete set of Hermès china dinner plates and a cake knife from Tiffany & Co.

‘Literally no words,’ she remarked, showcasing some of the 12 plates, which were in ‘perfect condition’ and ‘beautiful’.

‘Literally what dreams are made of’, Amanda added before explaining she initially didn’t know if the items were left accidentally or deliberately.

Rather than keeping the luxurious items, as some TikTok viewers admitted they might have, Amanda reached out to the Facebook seller, who confirmed the plates were accidentally left behind and would retrieve them.

“I better have some good karma coming my way for telling her she left all that china because that is a stunning china set, like truly, a dream.”

In a subsequent video, Amanda shared her relief in coming forward about the find since it was the seller’s wedding china.

However, many TikTok users admitted they would have handled the situation differently and commended Amanda for her integrity.

“I would’ve said nothing. You are better than me,” one commented, while another added: “You are really nice. I would have blocked them, felt guilty for a long time and moved on.”

“A spot for you in heaven my girl because that coulda never been me,” another joked, “My Hermes dinner party woulda been planned that same day.”

“She should have refunded your purchase for kindness,” another user suggested.

Someone else wrote: “I aspire to be SO RICH I forget about my Hermes china.”
