Kanye West’s Twitter account seems to be deactivated following a brief message directed at Elon Musk, the owner of the platform, coinciding with his critique of Taylor Swift during the Super Bowl.
On February 9, a peculiar advertisement starring West – who now goes by Ye – aired during the 59th Super Bowl. The commercial, recorded on his iPhone at a dentist’s office, attracted attention due to its unusual setting.
The ad, lasting 30 seconds, depicted the 47-year-old sporting sunglasses inside the dental clinic. It included two notable lines: “What’s up guys. I spent all the money for the commercial on these new teeth.
“So once again I had to shoot it on the iPhone. Erm… uhm…. go to Yeezy.com.”
During the NFL Championship game, West utilized Twitter to criticize Taylor Swift, 35, for apparently ‘singing’ along to Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance of his Grammy-winning song, ‘Not Like Us’.
He tweeted, “IF ITS ABOUT THE CULTURE … WHY ARE WE LETTING TAYLOR SWIFT BE SEEN ON TV SINGING A SONG ABOUT TAKING A BLACK MAN DOWN AND ACCUSING OF THINGS THAT CAN TAKE A BLACK MAN DOWN FOR LIFE.”
In another tweet, he expressed gratitude to Elon Musk, 53, for allowing him to express himself on the platform, announcing his intention to ‘log out’.
“I’m logging out of Twitter. I appreciate Elon for allowing me to vent. It has been very cathartic to use the world as a sounding board. It was like an Ayahuasca trip.
“Love all of you who gave me your energy and attention. To we connect again. Good afternoon and good night.”
West’s controversial Twitter exit followed recent comments about his wife Bianca Censori, 30, after she was seen in a revealing dress on the Grammys red carpet.
He stated, “I have dominion over my wife. This ain’t no woke as feminist s**t. She’s with a billionaire, why would she listen to any of you dumb a** broke b*****s?
“People say the red carpet look was her decision… Yes, I don’t make her do nothing she doesn’t want to, but she definitely wouldn’t have been able to do it without my approval, you stupid a** woke pawns.”
In another alarming tweet, the ‘Runaway’ rapper referred to himself as a ‘Nazi’.
He shockingly stated, “I love Hitler. Now what b****es,” on February 7.
Following his antisemitic outburst, a ‘sensitive content warning’ was applied to West’s Twitter account, prompting figures like David Schwimmer and Piers Morgan to urge Musk to ban him.
Schwimmer, 58, commented, “We can’t stop a deranged bigot from spewing hate filled, ignorant bile… but we CAN stop giving him a megaphone, Mr. Musk.”
“Kanye West has 32.7 million followers on your platform, X. That’s twice as many people than the number of Jews in existence. His sick hate speech results in REAL LIFE violence against Jews.”
In a recent interview, West disclosed that he was misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2016, claiming he actually has autism.
Speaking to Justin Laboy, he said, “I went to this doctor, one that works with Justin Bieber, one that work with I’m not even going to name other names and stuff.”
“My wife took me to do that because she said: ‘Something about your personality doesn’t feel like it’s bipolar. I’ve seen bipolar before’.
“She’s educated – so she says: ‘I’ve seen bipolar before’, and I’ve come to find it’s really a case of autism that I have.”
He explained that his diagnosis influences his tendency to act contrary to fan expectations.
“I’ve come to find out it’s really a case of autism that I have and autism takes you to a Rain Man thing where you’re like ‘Oh man I’m going wear this [Donald] Trump hat because I like Trump in general and then when people tell you to not do it you just get on that one point.
“That’s my problem when fans tell me to do my album a certain way, I’ll do it the opposite way just because.”
