Elon Musk has entered the political arena recently, after being appointed to lead a new government department.
Known as the wealthiest individual globally, Musk enjoys a strong cult following, with supporters backing his every ideology. This adoration contrasts with the reception Microsoft founder Bill Gates received when he was the richest person, as Gates has not garnered the same level of admiration.
Interestingly, Gates remains less popular than Musk, despite his commitment to donating nearly all of his fortune. While Musk faced controversy for donating less than required by law after creating a nonprofit, The Musk Foundation, filled with tax-deductible contributions, he remains highly regarded by many conservative Americans.
After assisting President Donald Trump in defeating Democrat presidential contender Kamala Harris during the campaign, Musk was rewarded with a government office by the Republican leader.
He now leads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), alongside former Republican presidential hopeful and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy.
Their objective is to streamline the U.S. government by eliminating thousands of jobs and significantly cutting the wage bill. They plan to disband the department once their mission is accomplished, with a target completion date of July 4, 2026, coinciding with Independence Day.
Now that we’ve outlined the situation, let’s delve into Joe Rogan’s comments about Musk, which have ignited online debate.
On his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan responded to claims that “Elon is going to steal everyone’s money” by saying: “He has $400 billion – I’m telling you he’s not going to steal your money; I’m telling you that’s not what he’s doing. What he’s doing is, he’s a super genius that’s been f***ed with, okay?
“And when you’ve been f***ed with by these nitwits that hide behind three-letter agencies, and you’re dealing with one of the smartest people alive – and he helps Donald Trump get into office, and he goes ‘I want to find out what corruption is really around’. Well, you f***ed up.
“You f***ed up and picked the wrong psychopath on the spectrum, because he’s going to f***ing… he’s going to hunt you down. He’s going to find out what’s going on, and that’s good! That’s good for everybody.”
Rogan added: “That’s how you should be looking at this, like ‘Wow, we have a brilliant mind that is examining these really f***ing corrupt and goofy systems, and bringing in a bunch of psychopath wizards’.”
Musk responded to Rogan’s comments by sharing the clip on Twitter with the remark: “The party is just getting started.”
On Twitter, where Musk has ownership, a user questioned: “So why didn’t he stop at 1 billion? The rich have never said ‘I have enough’.”
Another stated: “Ah yes, Joe, deep throat that boot and show how anti-establishment you supposedly are,” while a different user commented: “Jesus anyone who believes this must still think Santa Claus is real.”
However, some users defended Musk. One wrote: “Fr he has $400B. I don’t think he cares about anyones money LOL He’s doing this for the American people.
“If you think Musk is after your money you’re looking at the wrong man he’s after corruption.”
Another added: “Simple logic. How much of my money has Elon extorted from me? How much of my money has the federal government extorted from me?”
