Elon Musk has addressed the public on Twitter following the release of a statement by author Ashley St. Clair regarding their ‘new baby’.
On February 15, author Ashley St. Clair used social media to claim that the father of her five-month-old child is Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla.
In her statement, shared on Twitter, she wrote: “Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world. Elon Musk is the father. I have not previously disclosed this to protect our child’s privacy and safety, but in recent days days it has become clear that tabloid media intends to do so, regardless of the harm it will cause.”
“I intend to allow our child to grow in a normal and safe environment. For that reason, I ask that the media honor our child’s privacy, and refrain from invasive reporting.”
Musk has since engaged with the situation, responding to a tweet that shared an alleged conversation between a user named Greg Price and Ashley St. Clair. Musk responded with: “Whoa.”
The conversation screenshot includes a tweet from Price dated May 20, stating: “He’s got a kid with a woman already. Seems unlikely to work out.”
In a now-deleted response, St. Clair commented: “Well he actually has 7 kids & goes through women pretty fast.”
As of the latest information, Musk is confirmed to have 12 children with three different women. If St. Clair’s claim is true, she would be the fourth woman, and the child would be the 13th in Musk’s family.
A user by the name of Milo shared the conversation, commenting: “Ashley St Clair plotted for HALF A DECADE to ensnare Elon Musk.”
It remains unclear exactly what part of the exchange Musk’s “Whoa” referred to.
Additionally, St. Clair’s representative, Brian Glicklich, who is the President and CEO of Digital Strategy Ltd, issued a statement on Twitter on February 15. He addressed the alleged relationship between Ashley and Elon, noting that the two ‘have been privately working towards the creation of an agreement about raising the child for some time’. He also expressed disappointment over a tabloid reporter who allegedly ‘repeatedly ambushed’ St. Clair and her family, making it ‘impossible to complete that process confidentially’.
The statement concluded, “We are waiting for Elon to publicly acknowledge his parental role with Ashley, to end unwarranted speculation, and Ashley trusts that Elon intends to finish their agreement quickly, in the best interests of the wellbeing and security of the child they share.”
