Iconic Film Departs Netflix Tomorrow, Fans Hurry to Watch

Fans are taking the chance to revisit this iconic 2014 film, urging others to do the same before it departs Netflix.

Christopher Nolan is renowned for his impressive filmography, establishing himself as one of his generation’s premier directors.

With acclaimed films like The Dark Knight, Inception, and Oppenheimer, it’s hard to decide where to begin.

This is why enthusiasts are eager to watch one of his masterpieces, often deemed one of the greatest films ever made, before it exits Netflix on April 1, 2025.

Upon its 2014 release, the film achieved significant box office success, grossing $760 million.

Its cultural relevance has evidently endured, leading to a limited cinematic re-release in December of last year.

I’m referring, of course, to Interstellar, starring Matthew McConaughey.

In case you haven’t seen it, the story follows Joseph Cooper (played by McConaughey), who embarks on a space mission to find a new planet for humanity after Earth becomes uninhabitable.

While it might sound like a typical sci-fi storyline, the film offers much more depth, and social media users seem to agree.

Since its arrival on Netflix, viewers have been quick to propose new theories and spot previously unnoticed ‘details’ during their rewatches, taking to Twitter to motivate fellow film enthusiasts to catch it on the streaming service before it’s gone.

One user commented: “Interstellar leaves Netflix on Monday. My kids haven’t seen it yet. So you can imagine what we’re doing today…”

Another shared: “Netflix is removing interstellar tomorrow so of course i have to rewatch it duh,” while a third encouraged: “Interstellar last day on Netflix today. Go watch that masterpiece. You’re welcome.”

Another tweet read: “#Netflix is getting rid of #Interstellar (again) at the end of the month. So had to watch it again of course. Man, Nolan can do no wrong. Still love this movie.”

Someone else described it as their ‘fav film’ and a ‘masterpiece’, adding: “I’ve watched it 4 times and I’m itching to watch it again as it’s on Netflix. But my biggest fear and worry in life is always the same, time.

“And whenever i watch it i have deep emotional responses and ruminate about life too much.”

If these recommendations don’t convince you, the film boasts impressive ratings on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB.

On IMDB, Interstellar holds a score of 8.7 out of 10 from a staggering 2.3 million reviews. Meanwhile, on Rotten Tomatoes, it has a popcorn meter score of 87 percent from over 100,000 ratings, along with a certified fresh badge and a score of 73 percent.
