Kid Rock shares details of his White House visit with controversial ‘Trump-hater’ to promote unity

Kid Rock has shared details about his recent visit to the White House alongside a prominent Trump critic.

Earlier this month, the singer of ‘All Summer Long’ had announced his intention to take Bill Maher to meet the president.

Maher is known for his candid remarks, having criticized figures like Taylor Swift and had a public disagreement with Howard Stern over time.

One individual Maher has been particularly vocal about is Donald Trump. With this in mind, Trump-supporter Kid Rock aimed to bring Maher to meet Trump in hopes of fostering unity in the country.

“I’m actually going to try and unite this country, and I’m starting at the end of the month,” Kid Rock mentioned during the Glenn Beck Podcast last month.

“I’m taking Bill Maher to the White House for dinner. This guy who has done nothing but talk smack about the president since day one.”

In a surprising move, Maher agreed to visit the White House, and the meeting took place on Monday (March 31). Accompanying Kid Rock and Maher was Dana White, present as the president signed an executive order to combat ‘exploitative ticket scalping’.

Robert Ritchie, known by his stage name Kid Rock, later recounted the interaction between Trump and Maher.

In an appearance on Fox & Friends this morning (April 2), the ‘Born Free’ singer noted: “Everyone was so surprised, so pleasant. And the president was so gracious. He took us up to the private residence.”

“We saw the Gettysburg address in the Lincoln Bedroom,” he added.

During an interview on Varney & Co, Kid Rock emphasized that he, Maher, Trump, and White shared numerous commonalities.

He remarked: “We talked about a lot of things that he had in common. Bill Maher is a big supporter of Trump’s stance on the border, of ending wokeism.”

“The president even asked him about policy and what he thought with Iran getting nuclear weapons.”

Kid Rock mentioned that they all dined together and seemed to form a connection.

While Maher has been reserved about the meeting, he hinted that he would discuss it on a future episode of his show, Real Time, slated to air later this month.

He posted on Twitter yesterday (April 1): “Hey everybody, thank you for all the interest in my dinner with the president last night – I promise, all will be revealed on the next @RealTimers on April 11.

“As it’s April 1 today, no one would believe what I said today anyway!”
