Cinemas issue stern warning to Minecraft audiences as theaters descend into chaos for unusual reasons

The Minecraft movie has faced critical disapproval, but it seems to be a hit with audiences who are particularly enthusiastic about one memorable scene.

Movie adaptations of video games typically don’t have high expectations…

When the first trailer for A Minecraft Movie was released, many anticipated it would flop.

Checking the Warner Bros. YouTube page reveals that the initial teaser trailer garnered over 1.8 million dislikes against 740,000 likes.

Studios were understandably anxious about the potential financial loss from releasing a failure.

However, the situation took an unexpected turn.

Trends and memes emerged, which fortuitously encouraged more people to watch the movie.

Featuring Jack Black, Jason Momoa, Emma Myers, and Jennifer Coolidge, the film is based on the popular video game and appears to be a crowd favorite.

A Minecraft Movie surpassed expectations at the box office, earning $163 million domestically in its opening weekend.

Footage circulating online shows theater audiences erupting during a particular scene.

In a viral video, fans of Minecraft burst into applause, jumping and throwing popcorn.

One screening became so chaotic that police intervention was required, as reported by Dextero.

The scene causing the excitement? A cameo by a chicken jockey.

A chicken jockey is a rare adversary in the game, characterized by a baby zombie riding a chicken.

According to a Minecraft-focused fandom page, the rarity is described as: “In a chicken-free environment, each spawned zombie has a 0.25 percent chance of becoming a chicken jockey; if chickens are present, the chance increases to 0.4875 percent.”

While the movie has created a significant moment for the game’s fans, theaters are not as pleased.

Some cinemas have started advising viewers against engaging in ‘disruptive behavior’ during screenings.

A spokesperson for REEL cinema in Fareham, England, informed the Daily Echo: “To ensure everyone has the best possible cinema experience, we’re increasing our monitoring of screens during performances.

“Disruptive behavior, including taking part in TikTok trends, before, during, or after a screening will not be tolerated.

“Anyone causing disruption will be asked to leave, and where necessary, the police will be called.”

Additionally, Cineworld in Scotland used social media to communicate a warning.

The statement read: “We’ve been informed of reports of an online trend that includes making excessive noise during A Minecraft Movie.

“We would like to remind everyone to please be respectful to those around them by not making noise nor being on their phones during any movie. Failure to do so may result in ejection from the cinema.”
