On April 2, Donald Trump declared the day as ‘Liberation Day’ for the United States, announcing new tariffs on various countries worldwide with the aim of revitalizing the ‘American industry’.
There is speculation among social media users that Trump’s strategy as the 47th President involves a risky ‘chess move’ by intentionally destabilizing the market.
Financial experts have issued warnings that these new tax increases on foreign goods may lead to severe consequences for the life savings of Americans.
One individual who has felt the impact significantly is internet personality and online streamer Adin Ross.
Last year, Ross hosted a live stream on the platform Kick.com’s ‘Just Chatting’ category with Trump, where he presented him with several gifts, including a gold Rolex.
However, it appears that this gesture might have been premature, as Trump’s tariffs have now adversely affected Ross’s finances.
In a video titled DJ Akademiks Comes on Adin Ross’ Stream!, the influencer discussed the negative state of the stock market and expressed concern over the possibility of a recession in the US.
DJ Akademiks commented that Trump appears to be playing ‘a game of dangerous chicken’ and expressed hope that Trump would ‘halt’ the tariffs soon for negotiation. However, he noted that ‘right now’ people are feeling the negative effects, including Adin.
Despite gifting a Rolex to Trump, Adin has not been immune to the tariff repercussions, sharing: “We all are. Bro. Holy f**k it’s so bad.”
He further revealed that he has lost ‘eight figures’ – equating to at least $10,000,000 – since the tariffs were implemented.
Adin admitted: “It’s bad I’m not gonna lie to you bro. It will get better though.”
