Man Revived After 28 Minutes Describes Life-Changing Experience

A man has shared how his brush with death transformed his perspective on life.

Dannion Brinkley, a 74-year-old former US Marine and businessman, has recounted how he discovered he was a “spiritual being” after a near-death experience.

In 1975, Brinkley was struck by lightning, which he claims caused his “soul” to leave his body, leading to a profound out-of-body experience.

After being taken to the hospital by ambulance, medical professionals pronounced Brinkley dead. However, he came back to life just under 30 minutes later in a hospital morgue, asserting that his soul had returned to his body.

Brinkley shared his story on the T&H – Afterlife YouTube channel, where he discussed what he believes occurred and how it significantly altered his life view.

He emphasized that he experienced much more than mere darkness, which inspired him to author a book about his journey, titled “Saved By The Light.”

In the video, Brinkley stated: “I was struck by lightning, while talking on the telephone and I discovered that I was a spiritual being with absolutely nowhere to go.

“Absolutely no way to escape the fact that not only was I a spiritual being but that I had chosen and was chosen to be here at this particular time.

“Nowhere to go and on top of that I was dead and completely paralyzed, I was blind and I was burning and on fire because of the damage done by the electrocution burning my nerve endings.”

He recounted that following this incident, he “escaped his body” and had the opportunity for a “life review,” observing his life in a “360 degree panorama.”

Additionally, Brinkley claimed he could see events from another person’s perspective, eventually becoming “every person that you ever interacted with.”

He continued: “You feel the direct results of your interaction between you and that person. Most of mine was experiencing pain and anguish and suffering and the brutality that the nature of my life had created… and some good things.”

Brinkley explained that this helped him realize that life has “goals, structure and parameters,” and that, in the end, the world is “fair and just.”

Since this transformative experience, Brinkley has shared his insights on the afterlife and death through books and seminars, and he also provides counseling to terminally ill patients in hospices.
