Elon Musk recently became the subject of widespread internet ridicule after people noticed a peculiar note in front of him during a cabinet meeting.
Musk oversees the Department for Government Efficiency (DOGE) under Donald Trump’s Administration, which focuses on reducing federal expenses, updating technology within the government, eradicating fraud, and eliminating wasteful spending, all while enhancing governmental efficiency.
Despite not having a political background, the Twitter owner holds an influential position in the Trump administration and takes part in cabinet discussions.
While such meetings are traditionally shrouded in secrecy, Trump’s approach often includes allowing TV cameras into these typically private gatherings.
A photograph of the Tesla CEO during one of these meetings gained viral attention when internet users noticed what was written on his notepad.
The words “Top Secret!!” appeared in blue ink as the Trump administration convened on Thursday (April 10) for a cabinet meeting.
This detail led to widespread trolling of Musk, with one Twitter user commenting: “Underlined twice, two exclamation points. The most top secret.”
Another Reddit user noted: “This is what you would do for an 8-year old visiting their parent on take your kid to work day to make them feel included. I bet they even ordered him McDonald’s.”
A third person humorously added: “I just know that he thought he was hilarious.”

Despite some skepticism about Musk’s exact role in Trump’s administration, the 47th President recently praised the billionaire for his efforts.
“Thank you, Elon. He’s working very hard. He didn’t need this. He didn’t need this. Thank you very much, we appreciate it,” Trump stated.
“… Under the Trump administration, all of these scams — and there are far worse — but I didn’t think it was appropriate to talk about them. They’re so bad. Many more have been found out and exposed and swiftly terminated by a group of very intelligent, mostly young people headed up by Elon, and we appreciate it. We found hundreds of billions of dollars of fraud.
“And we’ve taken back the money and reduced our debt to fight inflation and other things — taken back a lot of that money. We got it just in time. This is just the beginning.”
