Fans have expressed their anger and are requesting refunds after spending hundreds of dollars on an event organized by MrBeast that promised an ‘unforgettable’ experience.
Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, who has a renowned YouTube channel with over 300 million subscribers, has reportedly let down numerous loyal fans after an event did not meet their expectations.
MrBeast, known for his extravagant giveaways and games, which have led to his game show ‘BeastGames’ on Amazon Prime, admitted that his latest event fell short of what was promised.
The ‘MrBeast Experience’ took place at Resorts World Las Vegas between Sunday and Tuesday. It was intended to be ‘unforgettable,’ though it was memorable for reasons that were not positive.
For a ticket price of $1,000, participants were promised a three-night hotel stay, a ‘mystery bag’ with ‘exclusive’ MrBeast merchandise, chances for meet-and-greets, photo opportunities, mini-games over three days, and a chance to win a $10,000 gift card.
However, many attendees expressed their dissatisfaction with the event.
“Unfortunately, we didn’t get any of that,” said Theresa Metta, who had traveled from Arizona with her mother for the event, in an interview with 8 News Now.
Some attendees reported they were confined to their hotel rooms for days waiting for a mystery package, which ultimately was a letdown.
Metta recounted her experience, saying: “I was told to wait in my room for two days for a package to come, so I legit spent two days in my room for a package to come, and it was a box of chocolates.”
She further explained: “It had kids’ shorts, an extra small shirt, a hat, and a medium shirt,” and noted, “If you go to MrBeast’s store to their merchandise right now, all this stuff is on clearance for $9. We were told we’d get exclusive merch. Obviously, that’s not the case.”
A video went viral showing a crowd of upset guests in the hotel lobby, many demanding to speak to MrBeast and labeling him a ‘scammer.’
In response to the backlash, MrBeast acknowledged the event’s shortcomings and offered a consolation to those affected.
Replying to an unhappy fan, MrBeast tweeted: “Hey! This definitely isn’t the experience we hoped they’d deliver. My team’s already on it—I’d love to personally make it up to you and anyone else by inviting everybody affected to tour my actual studio!”
He added: “Can’t wait to meet you all and my team is reaching out to everyone :D.”
The fan, who had mentioned waiting for 24 hours with ‘nothing’ happening and inquired about any planned activities, responded: “Wow! Thanks for saving the day jimmy! Much love brother.”
Despite the offer, some attendees felt it might not compensate for the experience, especially considering the ‘expensive’ nature of the hotel stay.
