Lizzo has denied using medications such as Ozempic or Mounjaro to aid her in losing weight.
Over the past year, Lizzo has amazed her fans with a significant body transformation. In January, she disclosed that she had successfully reduced her body fat by 16 percent.
At that time, the ‘Truth Hurts’ singer took to Instagram to express her excitement: “Today when I stepped on my scale, I reached my weight release goal. I haven’t seen this number since 2014! Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to. Time for new goals!”
However, Lizzo’s journey towards health and wellness did not end there, and it appears she has continued to lose weight.
Recently, the 36-year-old artist has been posting a series of photos on social media to display her progress and promote her clothing line, Yitty.
While some celebrities, like Amy Schumer, have opted for weight loss drugs such as Ozempic and Mounjaro, Lizzo asserts that she has not used any GLP-1 medications.
During an Instagram Live session on Tuesday (April 22), the ‘About Damn Time’ singer revealed that she has eliminated ‘sugary stuff’ from her diet, opting for ‘super savory’ foods instead.
“If I do something sweet, it’s gotta be with some sort of, like, carb. I’ll have, like, almond butter and toast,” she explained further. “So, everybody’s body is different. Find out what works for you.”
Lizzo emphasized that she believes in the fundamental principle of ‘calories in versus calories out’ as the key to weight management.
“That’s just how the human body works,” she stated.
With this understanding, Lizzo monitors her calorie intake to maintain a calorie deficit. She also attributes her weight loss to managing stress and focusing on her mental health.
“I’ve been working to get my anxiety under control for years,” she shared. “And then I decided that I want to release and I’m ready to stop waiting to be myself, like, fully and be happy.”
“I meditated. I calmed myself down. And I isolated a little bit — but not, like, made myself lonely, not the way I used to when I was depressed. I isolated myself in a mindful way where I had no distractions,” she added.
Just recently (April 23), Lizzo showcased her slimmer appearance in a bodysuit, receiving a flood of compliments from her 11.7 million Instagram followers.
One person commented, “Looking good I wish I could get myself motivated.”
Another follower wrote, “Listen Lizzo!!!! I need your upper body routine ASAP! Please and thank you because you are snapping with your wellness journey!”
“Omg just getting finer and finer by the day,” another admirer gushed.
Keep doing you, Lizzo.
