Elon Musk has made his stance clear by labeling sex without the intention of procreation as ‘absurd’.
The billionaire, known for his concerns about a potential ‘population collapse’, has consistently voiced his views on the matter for several years.
In 2022, Musk took to Twitter to assert that declining birth rates pose a greater threat to humanity than climate change.
“Population collapse due to low birth rates is a much bigger risk to civilization than global warming,” he tweeted.
“Mark these words.
“(And I do think global warming is a major risk).”
A 2019 interview with podcaster Lex Fridman has recently resurfaced, wherein the Tesla CEO, who has acknowledged fathering 13 children and is involved in a paternity case for a 14th, elaborated on his views about sex.
“A massive amount of thinking, like truly stupendous amount of thinking, has gone into sex – without purpose, without procreation, which is actually quite a silly action in the absence of procreation,” Musk shared with Fridman.
“It’s a bit silly, so why are you doing it? Because it makes the limbic system happy – that’s why.”
“But it’s pretty absurd really,” he added.
“A lot of computation has gone into, ‘how can I do more of that’, with the procreation not even being a factor.”
Commenters on Fridman’s YouTube channel weighed in, with one suggesting, “Elon was inferring that jer*ing off is silly hahah.”
Another joked, “This is Elon Musk talking dirty.”
And a third added, “If solving mathematical problems rendered a climax like that of a sexual orgasm, I’m pretty sure the human species would have a lot more mathematicians!”
Recently, private text messages between Musk and his former partner Ashley St Clair, who claims to be the mother of his 13th child, have been unveiled, providing insight into Musk’s perspective.
The two are currently embroiled in a contentious legal dispute.
Reportedly, the Wall Street Journal disclosed that Musk offered St Clair $15 million along with $100,000 monthly for child support in exchange for her silence on their child’s birth, an offer she refused.
In her conversations with the newspaper, St Clair shared some text messages exchanged with Musk during her pregnancy.
“To reach legion-level before the apocalypse, we will need to use surrogates,” Musk is alleged to have written.
Musk has consistently expressed his concerns about the declining global birthrate, emphasizing it as an existential issue. In 2023, the same year he met St Clair, he tweeted, “Population collapse is an existential problem for humanity, not overpopulation!”
