Everyone’s reacting similarly after Elon Musk clarifies his reversal on Trump-Epstein allegations

Last week, the tension between Elon Musk and Donald Trump caught widespread attention, leading many to speculate about the future of their relationship.

In recent months, Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur, and Donald Trump, the former US President, have been seen as a significant political duo. However, recent tweets by Musk suggested a potential rift.

The disagreement seemed to start over Trump’s ‘big beautiful bill,’ which Musk criticized publicly on the social media platform X.

While it is normal to have occasional differences, the situation escalated when Musk made a striking accusation in one of his tweets.

He suggested that the Jeffrey Epstein files have not been disclosed because Trump is mentioned in them.

Musk tweeted: “Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files,” he asserted. “That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”

In a subsequent tweet, Musk stated: “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.” However, he did not provide any evidence to support these claims.

Later, Musk removed this post but left other critical tweets on his page before making a public retraction.

On June 11, Musk expressed: “I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far.”

Nevertheless, numerous social media users are demanding clarity regarding the Epstein post, questioning whether Musk fabricated the claim about Trump being on the list or if he is defending Trump despite the allegations.

Musk has yet to supply any evidence of misconduct.

One user replied to Musk’s tweet: “Are you back to defending someone who you said is on the Epstein files?”

Another user remarked: “You said that Trump was in the Epstein files— don’t try to backtrack now. Did someone threaten you?”

A third questioned: “So which one is it, is he in the Epstein files or did you just lie about it?”

Another user added: “There’s a difference between ‘too far’ and whether or not they are accurate. You specifically said the Epstein Files aren’t out because he’s on them. Is that True or False?”
