Biohacker investing $2,000,000 annually to achieve immortality recalls incident when his ‘face swelled’ due to major error

Bryan Johnson, a self-described biohacker who has invested a staggering $2 million in a quest for immortality, has shared a misstep that caused his face to swell significantly.

Johnson is participating in an extensive and rigorous experimental medical program aimed at reversing aging, and he has been witnessing remarkable outcomes.

Despite these results, his unconventional methods have sparked considerable debate.

For instance, Johnson adheres to a very strict diet, uses his son’s blood, and engages in various practices to maintain his youth.

At over 40 years old, the Silicon Valley entrepreneur claims his rigorous regime has granted him the heart health of a 37-year-old and the lung capacity of someone just 18.

Johnson frequently discusses his routine, which is designed to reduce the biological age of each organ to be younger than his actual age.

However, his path has not been without challenges.

One such challenge resulted in his face becoming swollen and puffy, making him resemble a bowling ball.

In a YouTube video, Johnson disclosed the cause of this incident.

He explained: “My face blew up when I was doing fat injections.”

He continued: “In the early days of my endeavor, I went on caloric restriction. I got very skinny and that has the effect of wiping out all the fat in your face.”

Surprised by the outcome, he added: “Turns out that makes you look really old. I was trying to make my face look youthful with more fat, injecting the fat, and I had a severe allergic reaction and it blew up – I guess a bit more than I bargained for.”

While his regimen might be overwhelming for many, it has helped him reduce his biological age and improve his well-being.

Johnson elaborated on his daily practices during an appearance on the UK show This Morning, explaining the steps that have contributed to his success.

He shared how he consumes meals from his stringent diet before 11am and retires to bed by 8:30pm, dedicating a significant portion of his day to his ‘longevity protocol.’

Speaking to hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, Johnson acknowledged: “I should probably prime and say because what I’m going to say is probably pretty alarming to a lot of people, right. But I do spend five hours every day going through my longevity protocol, okay?

“It begins at 4:30 in the morning where I do a series of- I put, I get light in my eyes, I take my temperature, I do an hour of exercise, I do 20 minutes of sauna, I do 90 minutes of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and six minutes of red and near light. And then I have a lot of vegetables, berries, nuts, seeds, extra virgin olive oil.

“I have become the most measured person in human history.”

While some might be intrigued to try his approach, others have criticized Johnson for his extravagant spending and current appearance.

Nonetheless, Johnson offered a philosophical perspective on criticism in his YouTube channel, suggesting that people might eventually embrace his practices.

He stated: “None of us have any idea what we are talking about.”

“If we all introspect, we all realize that we are not the independent thinkers that we think we are.”

“We do what other people do, we want to be part of the tribe, we don’t want to be ostracized.”

“It doesn’t matter at all what anyone says, the only thing that matters is what they do.”

“So, it is not even a question of whether this is correct, it is inevitably correct, it is just a matter of are you going to be an early adopter or are you going to be a late adopter.”
