Queen Maxima has commented on Donald Trump’s recent visit to the Netherlands.
Donald Trump, the President of the United States, traveled to The Hague for the NATO summit last week. During his visit, he managed to acquire a new nickname, “daddy.”
While addressing the press with Secretary General Mark Rutte, they discussed Trump’s coarse remarks about Israel and Iran breaking their ceasefire soon after it was made.
Trump remarked about the two nations, saying they “don’t know what the f**k they’re doing.”
“They’ve had a big fight, like two kids in a schoolyard,” Trump described the ongoing conflict to reporters.
Rutte added to the discussion: “Daddy has to sometimes use strong language to get it stopped.”
Aside from Rutte referring to Trump as ‘daddy’—which he later clarified—it was the President’s visit to Queen Maxima and King Willem at the Huis ten Bosch Palace that caught public attention.
During a photo opportunity, Queen Maxima seemed to mimic Trump’s way of saying ‘thank you’ in footage of their meeting.
One online user reacted by saying: “WAIT A MINUTE WAS QUEEN MAXIMA OF THE NETHERLANDS MIMICKING DONAL TRUMP?”
Another commented: “Queen Maxima mimicking Trump’s mouth movements really got me.”
However, the Dutch queen has since denied these claims.

In a conversation with AD, Queen Maxima explained that while she did say ‘thank you’, it was directed at someone who had assisted her, dismissing the notion that she was mocking Trump. She described her meeting with him as ‘a pleasant experience.’
Princess Amalia, who is 21 years old, shared similar views, stating it was ‘really cool’ to meet the President.
Amalia is one of three daughters of Queen Maxima and King Willem, alongside Princess Alexia, 20, and Princess Ariane, 18.
Another notable aspect of Trump’s visit was his arrival at the palace, where he shook hands with King Willem in what seemed to be a demonstration of dominance.
Darren Stanton, a body language expert speaking for Genting Casino, analyzed this behavior, suggesting that Trump was “marking his territory.”
He explained: “As Trump exited his car, he looked almost like a cowboy entering a saloon. His feet were spread apart and his hands were on his hips, almost making himself look as big as possible.”
Stanton continued: “He was asserting his authority and marking his territory from the outset. It was an assertion of power.”
