Netflix to remove ’10/10′ mini-series fans binged in a single day dubbed ‘top TWD spin-off’

Netflix is removing a highly praised mini-series, which fans consider the best in the Walking Dead franchise.

The good news is that the six-episode series can be watched in its entirety in just one day. However, like two other Walking Dead spin-offs, it is soon to be removed from Netflix.

The likely reason for the show’s removal is the expiration of its license on the streaming platform.

Fans have expressed their disappointment at this decision, especially since they have lauded the series as ‘outstanding’.

This spin-off revisits two beloved characters from The Walking Dead, which wrapped up in 2022 after 11 seasons, whose stories were left unresolved.

If you’re not caught up with The Walking Dead, you might want to stop reading now as there are spoilers ahead.

This acclaimed spin-off dives into the fate of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), who disappeared in season nine, and Michonne (Danai Gurira), who set out to find him in season 10.

The series follows their emotional journey to reunite and survive as they endeavor to return home together.

Created by Scott M. Gimple, alongside Lincoln and Gurira, the series was only added to the US Netflix library in January.

The mini-series in question is The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, scheduled for removal on Tuesday, August 18.

Fans on Rotten Tomatoes have declared it as ‘the best spinoff of the entire franchise.’

Despite a 76 percent rating from 1,000 reviews, dedicated fans describe it as a ’10/10.’

One viewer commented: “Binged it all in one day, it was very well written,” while another added: “Awesome, some of the best Walking Dead content I’ve seen in years.”

A third viewer praised the show for its emotional depth and compared it to the ‘peak seasons’ of the original series, saying: “Andrew Lincoln is still amazing as Rick even though he’s at a different place than we’ve seen before. He and Danai both shine in this.”

Fans are understandably disappointed about the impending removal of The Ones Who Live.

Additionally, other The Walking Dead series are also expected to leave Netflix this August.

Reports indicate that all eight seasons of Fear the Walking Dead and the first season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon may exit the platform on the same day.

The ‘leaving soon’ notices for these shows have been removed from Netflix, suggesting they might remain available, but The One Who Lives still has its warning.

Responding to the news, one user expressed concern: “So all TWD is leaving Netflix??? What am I gonna do???”

Another user complained: “Why the hell is the ones who live leaving Netflix bro,” while someone else remarked: “Didn’t they just add it?”

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is available for streaming on Netflix until August 19, after which it can still be watched on AMC+.
