Virginia Giuffre’s brother has released a poignant statement following President Donald Trump’s assertion that Jeffrey Epstein ‘stole’ her.
President Trump has not denied his past association with the late convicted child sex offender, Epstein. Nonetheless, there has been increasing pressure on the Trump administration to release the alleged Epstein files, which supposedly contain a ‘client list’ of the financier’s wealthy and influential associates and potential visitors to his private island.
Recently, Trump has denied ever visiting Little Saint James and stated that he had severed ties with Epstein ‘for years’.
Amidst the political controversy over the files’ release, Trump has further claimed that he knew Epstein ‘stole’ young women who worked at the spa at Mar-a-Lago, his opulent golfing estate in Florida.
One of the women identified by Trump was Virginia Giuffre, who was one of Epstein’s most recognized sex trafficking accusers.
Giuffre tragically passed away by suicide earlier this year.
The president commented: “I told him, I said, listen, we don’t want you taking our people, whether it was spa or not spa. I don’t want him taking people. And he was fine.”
“And then, not too long after that, he did it again. And I said, out of here.”
“I don’t know. I think she worked at the spa. I think so. I think that was one of the people, yeah, he stole her,” Trump continued. “And by the way, she had no complaints about us, as you know, none whatsoever.”
Giuffre’s family expressed ‘shock’ over the president’s mention of her and his use of the term ‘stolen’ to describe what happened to her. She was allegedly ‘hired’ to work away from the spa by Epstein’s associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, when she was 16.
Now, her siblings, including her older brother Sky Roberts, have also shared their experiences.
In an emotional interview with NBC News, Sky stated: “She’s not an object, she’s a person. She’s a mom. She’s a sister. And she was recruited by Maxwell. She wasn’t stolen.”
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt noted that Trump did not specifically name Giuffre, but was responding to reporters’ questions.
“The fact remains that President Trump kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his club for being a creep to his female employees,” Leavitt commented.
In her lawsuit, Giuffre claimed she was abused by Epstein and Maxwell together and subsequently ‘lent out to other powerful men.’
Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence related to her involvement in the child sex trafficking case and is seeking to have her conviction overturned and for Trump to pardon her.
The Trump administration has stated it is not considering clemency for the 63-year-old.
Regarding the Epstein files, the Department of Justice has contradicted previous statements, as Attorney General Pam Bondi initially suggested the files were on her desk, but later announced that no further files would be released.
Nevertheless, the Trump administration has urged the DOJ to release all FBI files, while denying the existence of a ‘client list.’
Despite this, the president continues to label the files as a ‘hoax,’ stating they were mishandled by the former FBI director and then-president Joe Biden, adding: “They were run by my enemy.”
Giuffre’s family has also emphasized that she was determined to see the Epstein files released before her death, advocating for ‘transparency and justice.’
Amanda Roberts, Giuffre’s sister-in-law, remarked: “She was fighting for that to happen right up until the very end. She wanted the public to know the crimes that they had committed.”
