Individuals are being called ‘phony’ Disney enthusiasts for forgetting this particular character in iconic film

Fans of Disney’s classic films are being labeled as ‘fake’ for forgetting a particular character from a much-loved movie. It’s been nearly thirty years since Disney released the famous musical film about Hua Mulan, a legendary figure in Chinese history.

The animated movie brings Mulan’s legend to life, depicting her journey from a young woman to a warrior who disguises herself as a man to save her father from being drafted into the Imperial Army. Alongside her heroic efforts to bring honor to her family, Mulan is joined by Mushu, a dragon voiced by Eddie Murphy, who serves as her spiritual guide.

However, some fans are facing criticism online for their apparent lapse in memory regarding a specific family member.

During Disney World Princess Week, a poster showcased Mulan among other well-known princesses with their animal companions.

For instance, Pocahontas is seen with her raccoon friend Meeko, Ariel the mermaid with Flounder the fish, and Jasmine from Aladdin with her tiger, Rajah. But Mulan is shown with a white dog that many viewers don’t recall.

One fan expressed their surprise, writing, “Why is no one talking about that goddam dog with Mulan. Who is that?”

Social media users have been vocal about their confusion, with another stating, “This dog never existed,” on Twitter.

“This some Mandela effect stuff. That dog wasn’t in that movie,” commented another user.

Another fan added, “Not y’all gaslighting us to believe in something clearly not real, if he was there I would know… I remember Mushi, the captain’s son, the ugly villain, her dad, even those girls with a whole lot of makeup which y’all have probably forgotten so.”

Reacting to these claims, devoted Mulan enthusiasts have criticized those viewers as ‘fake fans’ for overlooking the loyal companion known as Little Brother.

According to the Disney Fandom site, Little Brother is Fa Mulan’s pet dog, appearing briefly in both the original and sequel films. The dog plays a role in helping Mulan with tasks like feeding chickens and is seen causing minor mischief, such as bothering her father during prayers.

However, Little Brother did not make it into the 2020 live-action remake of the film by Walt Disney Pictures.

“You trippin!” responded another fan. “That dog was there the whole time.”

Another fan confessed, “I literally quote ‘little brotherrrrrrrr’ all the time to my brothers.”

Despite this, many believe Little Brother’s presence in the film was minimal and suggest that the poster should be revised to feature more prominent characters like Mushu the dragon, Cri-Kee the lucky cricket, or Khan the horse.

“Mushu and CriKee (the cricket) were way more prominent in the movie. We did not care about that dog,” another fan pointed out.

“I mean, he wasn’t that important in the movie; the horse or Mushu were more justifiable,” added another voice in the discussion.

Some fans expressed a desire to see more of Little Brother, hoping he would become ‘an icon like Stitch.’

Interestingly, Chris Sanders, who voices Little Brother, also lent his voice to Stitch in the popular Lilo & Stitch films.
