Drake is facing some criticism after his latest Instagram post sparked a common reaction among viewers.
This latest post comes just a few weeks after Drake shared a picture of his bare torso, which also drew significant attention.
However, this time, it’s not the kind of attention he might have hoped for.
Drake has joined a popular TikTok trend involving Jet2Holidays, a trend that has been embraced by many celebrities.
The soundbite “Nothing beats a Jet2 Holiday” is widely recognized from the Jet2Holidays advertisement and is paired with British singer Jess Glynne’s 2015 hit ‘Hold My Hand.’
While the likes of Mariah Carey and Jeff Goldblum have made humorous parodies of the ad, Drake took it further by seemingly visiting the Jet2Holidays headquarters to take part in the trend.
This move did not sit well with everyone.
On Reddit, users openly expressed their opinions on Drake’s involvement, with many suggesting that he either spoiled the joke or was simply being ‘corny.’
A thread started with a post of Drake’s images, captioned, ‘Drake actually ruined the Jet2Holidays joke lol.’
One commenter remarked: “He’s the corniest guy that’s ever walked the earth.”
Another user added: “The s*** he is doing gives me such Kendall Roy vibes. He has always been corny but the lack of self-awareness and earnestness he has whilst being mad corny is wild.”
A commenter humorously referenced Drake’s rivalry with Kendrick Lamar, saying: “Can someone please call Kendrick to take care of that problem? Thanks.”
Another user commented: “This is so wild. Never in my life did I think I’d see Drake advertising for a budget travel company.”
On Instagram, the official Jet2Holidays account even chimed in with a comment saying: “You started from the boarding gate now you’re here.”
While Drake’s attempt didn’t go over well, Goldblum and Carey received different responses.
Goldblum shared a TikTok featuring a remixed voice-over, replacing ‘Jet2’ with ‘Jeff2.’
Fans appreciated his take, with one saying: “If Jeff Goldblum isn’t greeting me at the gate in sunglasses and a silk shirt, is it even a Jeff2 holiday?”
Carey used the trend to promote her appearance at Brighton Pride in the UK, sharing a TikTok of her boarding a plane with the caption: “Nothing beats going to Brighton Pride!!”
