After Ozzy Osbourne was laid to rest at his Buckinghamshire estate in the UK, fans have been curious about the future of the property should it ever be sold.
The legendary Prince of Darkness passed away at 76 on July 22, shortly after his final performance with Black Sabbath.
On Wednesday (July 30), Ozzy’s wife, Sharon Osbourne, along with their children Jack, Kelly, and Aimee, joined music fans in Birmingham for a memorial procession.
A black hearse transported Ozzy’s body through the streets of his birthplace before his burial at his 250-acre Buckinghamshire estate on Thursday (July 31).
The rock star had expressed his desire not to be cremated, requesting instead to be buried “in a nice garden somewhere, with a tree planted over my head.”
“A crabapple tree, preferably – so that the kids can make wine out of me and get p***ed out of their heads,” he had mentioned in his 2010 autobiography, I Am Ozzy.
Reports indicate that his wishes were honored, as he was laid to rest in a picturesque location near a lake, close to bat boxes—a reference to his infamous bat-biting incident.
The potential sale of the estate has sparked questions about the future of Ozzy’s grave.
In the UK, it is permissible to bury someone on private property with proper permissions, although it comes with certain complications.
The government notes that selling the land could create issues, as the new owner would not be required to allow access to the grave or maintain it.
“You would not be able to gain access to the burial place if you sold the property/land to someone else and you would not be able to continue to pay your respects to your loved one. This could cause a lot of heartache and upset,” the site states.
According to Forsters law firm, there might be an option for visitation rights linked to the land title, though these can fade over time.
However, there is no sign that the Osbournes intend to sell the property, as Ozzy had referred to the estate as his “sanctuary away from the spotlight.”
Following his funeral and burial, fans have left flowers in Birmingham, at the Black Sabbath Bridge, and outside the Osbourne estate to honor Ozzy.

Kelly, his daughter, was also seen wearing Ozzy’s signature purple-tinted glasses.
