Liam Neeson has expressed his strong feelings about a particular on-set behavior that leads him to avoid working with certain actors. These individuals exhibit a habit he finds ‘disturbing.’
Known for his work in films like Taken and more recently in The Naked Gun alongside Pamela Anderson, Neeson has cemented his status as a respected figure in Hollywood.
At 73 years old, the Irish actor continues to secure roles in the film industry, showing that he remains at the pinnacle of his career.
The Naked Gun debuted with an impressive $17 million in box office earnings, with Neeson’s performance playing a significant role in its initial success.
Despite his satisfaction with the trajectory of his career, there is a particular type of actor that fails to earn Neeson’s approval.
In a conversation with Rolling Stone, Neeson stated: “I hear disturbing stories about actors and actresses who are very gifted, but show up on the set two, three, four hours late. I would never work with those people.
“I think it’s so insulting. You have a crew of like 60, 70, 80 people waiting for you. The very least you can do is give them the respect by turning up on time.”
While he did not mention any actors by name, it seems unlikely that his comments were directed at anyone involved in The Naked Gun, given his favorable remarks about co-star Anderson during that project.
This latest comedy project marks a departure from Neeson’s usual action-oriented roles, where he has built much of his fame.
In a recent interview with Variety, Neeson hinted that he may be stepping away from action films, citing concerns related to his age.
“I’m 73, for f**k’s sake,” he mentioned to the outlet. “I don’t want to insult audiences if they’re watching whole fight scenes and it’s not me. I just wouldn’t do it. Up until recently, I liked doing my own fight stuff.
“But I don’t want to be doing that stuff with a Zimmer frame or walking stick. Sure, there might be another one out there, but nothing definite on the horizon.”
Neeson and Anderson have been actively promoting The Naked Gun, leading to speculation about a possible relationship between them.
Their on-screen characters develop a romantic connection, and the chemistry between Neeson and Anderson has led some to believe there might be a real-life romance, although neither has confirmed this.
