JFK’s Grandson Playfully Mocks Melania Trump for ‘Peace Letter’ to Putin

The grandson of JFK, Jack Schlossberg, has playfully mocked the First Lady over her decision to write a letter to Vladimir Putin.

On Friday, August 15, US President Donald Trump had a significant meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska. The primary aim of their encounter was to persuade Putin to agree to a peace deal concerning the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Although they spent three hours conversing and held a 12-minute press conference, neither a ceasefire nor a peace agreement was reached. Trump noted they had ‘agreed on most points’, while Putin suggested that their next meeting should be held in Moscow.

During this time, First Lady Melania Trump provided an additional perspective by having her husband deliver a letter addressing the issue to Putin.

In her letter, Melania Trump voiced her concerns about the Ukrainian children who have been taken to Russia without their parents’ consent. She appealed to Moscow to protect the children’s innocence.

In response, John F. Kennedy’s grandson, Jack Schlossberg, humorously addressed the situation in an Instagram video, where he mimicked Melania’s accent and read her entire letter aloud, sometimes stumbling over words.

He captioned the Instagram post: “Message from our beautiful First Lady — THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER — we want peace!”

After his playful reading, Schlossberg, speaking in a Trump-like accent, quipped: “What am I saying? This makes no sense. Please be more specific, Ms Melania Trump.”

Stepping out of character, he critiqued the letter, saying: “I don’t think it made any sense. I don’t think it said anything besides ‘melodic laughter’, that’s the only thing that I can remember, and that she is calling on Putin to end the war. Hm, interesting. Maybe she could talk to somebody who could do something about that…,” he teased.

He concluded with his thoughts: “A very confusing letter. A very confusing message. Not that confusing of a conflict in Ukraine.”

In full, Melania Trump’s letter read: “Dear President Putin, every child shares the same quiet dreams in their heart, whether born randomly into a nation’s rustic countryside or magnificent city center. They dream of love, possibility and safety from danger.”

She continued: “As parents, our duty is to nurture the next generation’s hope. As leaders, the responsibility to sustain our children extends beyond the comfort of a few.

“Undeniably, we must strive to paint a dignity-filled world for all – so that every soul may wake to peace, and so that the future itself is perfectly guarded.

“A simple yet profound concept, Mr. Putin, as I am sure you agree, is that each generation’s descendants begin their lives with a purity – an innocence which stands above geography, government and ideology.”

“Yet in today’s world, some children are forced to carry a quiet laughter, untouched by the darkness around them – a silent defiance against the forces that can potentially claim their future,” the First Lady added.

“Mr. Putin, you can singlehandedly restore their melodic laughter.

“In protecting the innocence of these children, you will do more than serve Russia alone – you serve humanity itself.

“Such a bold idea transcends all human division, and you, Mr. Putin, are fit to implement this vision with a stroke of the pen today.

“It is time.”
