US President Donald Trump’s latest speech has left many bewildered, sparking discussions about whether he’s being sincere.
Trump frequently makes headlines (for better or worse), primarily due to his remarks.
Recently, he grabbed attention by using his social media platform, Truth Social, to criticize a news station over its portrayal of him.
He expressed dissatisfaction with MSNBC’s decision to rebrand as MS NOW amid its corporate separation from NBC, and also criticized Newsom for mimicking his online rants.
Currently, Trump’s comments about grass have become the focal point.
Indeed, you read that correctly.
Trump’s remarks on grass have left social media users puzzled about their significance.
The incident was recorded as the President stood before reporters, proclaiming himself the foremost expert on grass while discussing plans to revamp parks in Washington DC.
He stated, “One of the things we’re going to be redoing is your parks.”
He continued: “I have a lot of golf courses all over the place. I know more about grass than any human being, I think, anywhere in the world.”
Trump further commented that ‘grass has a life’ and claimed DC’s grass had perished ’40 years ago’.
On the platform X, users are now speculating whether ‘Trump’s completely lost his mind’.
One individual responded: “I would say yes, he has lost his mind, but that would imply that he had a mind to begin with.”
Another stated: “He never had a sane mind!”
Some seized the opportunity to criticize his presidency, with one person remarking: “Trump’s out here debating the life cycle of grass while Americans are worried about jobs, health care, and democracy itself. He’s not a leader, he is a late-night comedy sketch that never ends.”
One user believed the president was knowledgeable, writing: “He owns golf courses. The man knows his grass.”
Others were outraged that he discussed grass quality after having the Rose Garden at the White House paved over.
Someone commented: “So why did he pave over the Rose Garden, grass and all.”
Another angrily remarked: “This is coming from the man that paved a slab of concrete over the Rose garden lawn!!”
This year, Trump replaced the White House Rose Garden’s grass with stone as part of a nearly $2 million renovation aimed at updating the building.
According to NPR, Trump has a specific justification for this.
He explained: “We had the press here yesterday. You see the women? They’re going crazy. The grass was wet. Their heels are going right through the grass like 4 inches deep.”
Wet grass isn’t ideal, but the President also mentioned that the alteration (despite lacking grass) is aesthetically pleasing.
Trump added: “And it’s a beautiful white stone. And it’s a stone that’s the same color as the White House itself. And because it’s very white, it’s going to reflect the heat. It’s not going to be very hot, like if you had a dark stone.
“So, yeah, we’ve gotten great reviews on the Rose Garden.”
Perhaps he simply disliked wet grass?
