California Congresswoman Maxine Waters expressed strong disapproval of Donald Trump, issuing a stark warning about the potential consequences for the United States.
The Democratic Representative voiced her concerns on MSNBC, taking aim at Trump’s administration and its impact on the nation.
She advocated for decisive measures to ensure his removal from the presidency.
Waters stated: “He wants to control the Fed. He wants to be able to determine interest rates. He wants to be able to have the people on the governing board that will do exactly as they are told. This is extraordinarily dangerous. This is the makings of a dictator who is trying to control the entire economy.”
She further warned that the administration’s actions could destabilize the economy and urged for rapid intervention.
Waters proposed invoking Article 25 of the Constitution to initiate his removal.
She remarked: “It is not about, you know, lingering and trying to think that maybe the courts will help us.
“I want, even though I know it may not happen, the cabinet that he’s appointed, a bunch of his sycophants who probably won’t do what I would recommend.
“It is time to call for Article 25 of the Constitution of the United States of America to determine his unfitness, to determine that something’s wrong with this president.
“I would suggest that we move very aggressively to talk about the danger to this country and to our democracy and not play around with this, because this is absolutely one of the most destructive things that this president could do.”
Waters has consistently criticized Trump, previously cautioning that his actions were leading the US toward conflict with Iran following an attack on the nation in June.
At that time, she said: “Trump is out of control and does not contribute to an establishment of peace.
“This president must be stopped. I and Members of Congress must confront this issue as soon as we return to Congress. We need peaceful negotiations, not another war.”
Trump later boasted about the military actions against Iran, describing the US strikes on their nuclear facilities as ‘very successful’.
In a national address, he detailed the bombing of three nuclear sites, labeling them part of Iran’s ‘horribly destructive enterprise’.
He declared: “Our objective was the destruction of Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity and a stop to the nuclear threat posed by the world’s number one state sponsor of terror. Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success.”
