Netflix Viewers Can’t Stop Laughing at This Weekend’s Binge-Worthy Mini-Series

Netflix viewers are diving into a new comedy series, finishing it within a mere two days due to its hilarious nature.

From iconic shows like Friends to Modern Family, sitcoms have long been a reliable source for easy laughs and comforting vibes.

Netflix’s latest offering is gaining traction, with fans praising its ‘clever’ writing and rib-tickling humor.

Created by Chuck Lorre of The Big Bang Theory fame, this 16-episode series centers on Leanne (played by Leanne Morgan), who finds her life in turmoil when her husband of 33 years unexpectedly leaves her.

The synopsis of the show reads: “Supported by her family, including her ride-or-die sister Carol (played by Mom’s Kristen Johnston), Leanne learns to embrace the chaos and finds strength, laughter, and hope in the most unexpected places. This heartfelt comedy proves that it’s never too late to rewrite your story.”

Fans have given the show a solid 88 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while critics have scored it at 71 percent.

For perspective, even Friends received a 78 percent from the professionals, making this a notable achievement.

The show, titled Leanne, premiered on Netflix on July 31.

An excited fan shared on the r/Netflix community on Reddit: “Has anyone else seen the show Leanne on Netflix?

“I’m watching it and it is so funny and clever. I’m surprised no one else has talked about it.”

“I haven’t laughed so hard at a sitcom or even a movie comedy as I did watching Leanne,” responded another fan.

“The supporting cast is excellent; and of course, anything Kristen Johnson is in is going to be fantastic.”

“Same! I laughed so hard!” the original poster replied.

“It’s such an easy watch. A good, classic sitcom,” commented another viewer.

“I binged it all in two nights!” another fan exclaimed. “I love it! Great characters too!” Someone else admitted: “I’m on my third re-watch already!”

However, some viewers did have one minor complaint.

“Cute show, but they can tone down the laughing track,” one viewer remarked, with another agreeing that it made the show ‘difficult to watch’.

Some fans, though, claimed they didn’t even notice the use of the laugh track.

As of now, Netflix has yet to confirm a second season for this light-hearted comedy.

Nevertheless, the cast and crew of Leanne are hopeful, with Morgan expressing her desire for a second season in an interview with TV Insider.

“Whether it’s romantic or a job… Leanne tended to her family all of her life, put everybody else first,” Morgan said.

“I want people to see what she’s gonna do [next].”

Co-star Johnston mentioned that the show is ‘definitely set up to hopefully continue,’ hinting at ‘some really big payoffs’ if it does.

You can stream all 16 episodes of Leanne now on Netflix.
