Charlie Kirk was involved in a shooting incident at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
Kirk, a prominent right-wing activist and the executive director of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), was in the middle of his presentation when the shooting occurred.
A representative from Utah Valley University informed CNBC: “At this time, we understand that Charlie Kirk was about 20 minutes into his talk when shots were heard from a nearby building. To our knowledge, he was hit and was escorted away by his security team, and the area was evacuated promptly.”
The FBI is reportedly keeping a close watch on the situation.
FBI director Kash Patel shared on Twitter: “Our thoughts are with Charlie, his loved ones, and everyone affected.
“Agents will be on the scene quickly and the FBI stands in full support of the ongoing response and investigation.”
Details regarding Kirk’s condition have not been released.
