The last remarks of Charlie Kirk before he was tragically shot while addressing attendees at a university in Utah have been unveiled.
On September 10, the founder of Turning Point, Charlie Kirk, was fatally shot at an event held at Utah Valley University, an event that left many shocked.
At the time of the incident, there was uncertainty about Kirk’s condition, which former President Donald Trump acknowledged through a social media post.
On Truth Social, Trump expressed: “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie.
“He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
In a chilling twist, only moments before being shot, Kirk was discussing the pressing issue of gun violence.
During the rally, an audience member approached the microphone to engage Kirk in a discussion about mass shootings.
The question posed was: “Do you know many transgender Americans have been shooters over the last 10 years?”
This conversation topic gained traction following a shooting at a Catholic Church in Minneapolis on August 27, where the perpetrator was identified as transgender.
Kirk responded with ‘too many,’ which was met with a strong reaction from the crowd.
The audience member then stated that the number was five, and proceeded to inquire about the total number of mass shooters in America over the past decade.
Kirk’s final words, before the shooting occurred, were in response to this query: “Counting or not counting gang violence?”
At that moment, a shot was fired from the crowd, striking Kirk in the neck, causing severe bleeding as he collapsed in his chair.
After the shooting, authorities reported that a suspect was in custody, though they did not confirm whether this individual was responsible for the shooting.
The FBI has since released this person, as stated in their official communication.
FBI Director Kash Patel tweeted: “The subject in custody has been released after an interrogation by law enforcement. Our investigation continues and we will continue to release information in interest of transparency.”
Officials have labeled the incident as a ‘political assassination’ and believe the suspect acted independently.
