FBI Releases New Findings After Discovering Crucial Evidence in Charlie Kirk Assassination Case

The FBI has provided a new update regarding its investigation into the shooting death of Charlie Kirk.

Kirk was shot in the neck while attending an event at Utah Valley University yesterday.

The 31-year-old was quickly transported to the hospital but unfortunately passed away from his injuries. He leaves behind his wife and their two young children.

A nationwide search is ongoing to locate the shooter. Although the individual has not yet been apprehended, the FBI has announced the discovery of a firearm believed to belong to the assailant.

FBI Special Agent in Charge, Robert Bohls, stated that the weapon is a high-powered bolt-action rifle, which they suspect is linked to the shooting incident.

The rifle was discovered in a wooded area, which is believed to be where the shooter fled after the attack.

Additionally, the FBI has found and is examining a ‘footwear impression, a paw print, and a forearm imprint’, as reported by the BBC.

The agency is heavily relying on the public for assistance in locating the shooter, urging people to submit videos and photos from the university event.

Bohls mentioned that they have received 130 tips so far.

Furthermore, Bohls confirmed that the suspect is male and that the FBI has images of him that they plan to release soon.

Bohls also noted that the suspect is not believed to pose a threat to the wider community.

Reports suggest the shooter may be of college age, as he ‘blended in well with the college environment’.

“We’re not releasing many details right now. We will soon. But right now, we’re not,” Bohls stated, adding, “But that individual appears to be of college age.”

During a press conference, Utah DPS Commissioner Beau Mason confirmed they possess ‘good video footage’ of the suspect, which is still being analyzed.

Mason has spoken with Kirk’s family, describing them as ‘devastated’ by his passing.

“I can only imagine what they’re going through,” he said. “This is not Utah. This is not what we are known for.”

According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, approximately 3,000 people attended the event Kirk was present at yesterday.

The statement noted that the university police department had six officers on duty at the event, along with Kirk’s personal security team.

Utah Valley University reported that the campus was immediately evacuated and remains closed.

Classes have been suspended until further notice.

Those still on campus were instructed to stay in place until they could be safely escorted off by police officers.
