In the wake of her husband’s tragic assassination, Charlie Kirk’s wife, Erika Kirk, has shared some poignant images, including those from his casket.
Erika Kirk has been enduring a challenging time following the sudden passing of her husband. On Wednesday, September 10, the 31-year-old conservative commentator and right-wing activist was fatally shot at an event at Utah Valley University, suffering a single gunshot wound to the neck.
Two days after the incident, the FBI announced the detention of a suspect, identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson. Kirk is survived by his wife and their two young children: a one-year-old son and a three-year-old daughter.
In response to the arrest, Erika went live on his podcast on Friday, September 12, to discuss the tragedy and express gratitude to first responders, Kirk’s staff, and President Donald Trump.
Recently, the 36-year-old paid tribute to her late husband on Instagram by sharing a series of emotional images and videos, which included intimate moments at his open casket. In the images, Erika is seen bowing her head over the coffin, kissing Kirk’s hands, and through tears, repeatedly saying ‘I love you’ and ‘God bless you.’
Another video captures the moment Kirk’s casket is wheeled through a corridor and loaded into a hearse. She also shared footage of an American flag waving in the breeze, likely taken as the hearse traveled to Utah airport. There, she is seen breaking down before boarding the Air Force Two jet that would transport Kirk back to Phoenix.
On the flight, Erika was accompanied by Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance. She leaned on Ms. Vance as military personnel paid their respects to the sound of bagpipes.
Drawing on her Evangelical Christian faith, she wrote in the caption: “The world is evil. But our Savior. Our Lord. Our God. Не…Не is so good. I will never have the words. Ever.”
She continued: “The sound of this widow weeping echoes throughout this world like a battle cry. I have no idea what any of this means. But baby I know you do and so does our Lord.”
Erika expressed her determination to continue her husband’s mission, including his campus tour, radio show, and podcast. She reaffirmed this commitment in her Instagram post, stating: “You. All of you. Will never. Ever. Forget my husband @charliekirk1776 I’ll make sure of it.”
To her spouse, she added: “Rest in the arms of our Lord baby as He blankets you with the words I know your heart always strived to hear, ‘well done My good and faithful servant.'”
