Prosecutors disclose unsettling motive given by Charlie Kirk’s murder suspect during parental inquiry

Prosecutors have disclosed the chilling explanation Tyler Robinson provided to his parents for allegedly killing Charlie Kirk.

Kirk was fatally shot while attending an event hosted by his organization, Turning Point USA, on September 10 at Utah Valley University.

The right-wing commentator was on campus as part of the initial stop of his ‘American Comeback Tour’, organized by Turning Point USA, the organization he co-founded and where he served as executive director.

He was shot in the neck just a few moments into the debate.

Robinson is now facing charges on seven counts, which include aggravated murder and obstruction of justice.

The specific charges are as follows:

During a press conference on September 16, Utah District Attorney Jeff Gray confirmed the charges and provided insight into the possible motive behind the incident.

Gray stated: “When asked why he did it, Robinson explained, ‘There’s too much evil and the guy [Kirk] spreads too much hate’.”

Robinson decided to surrender after a conversation with a family friend who is a retired law enforcement officer.

Prosecutors are pursuing the death penalty. A reporter inquired whether the Utah district attorney had communicated with Donald Trump after the former president suggested that Robinson should face the death penalty.

The district attorney stated: “I talked to officials from both administrations, but I was not pressured to make a decision. I understood their feelings on it because it was in the news, but we didn’t really discuss that.”

Robinson reportedly confessed to the crime in a text message to his roommate.

Gray explained at the press conference: “The roommate received a text message from Robinson which said: ‘Drop what you’re doing. Look under my keyboard.’ The roommate looked under the keyboard and found a note that stated, ‘I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I’m going to take it’.”

The roommate replied, “What? You’re joking,” according to Gray. The attorney also revealed that Robinson informed his roommate that he killed Kirk because he was tired of his ‘hatred’.
