Details have emerged regarding Celeste Rivas after authorities shared an update about the decomposed body discovered in a Tesla linked to singer d4vd.
Authorities responded to reports of a foul odor coming from a vehicle located in a Hollywood tow yard in Los Angeles earlier this month. Their investigation led to the grim discovery of a decomposing corpse in the car’s trunk.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) previously stated to LADbible Group: “On 9/8/25 around 12:20 pm, officers responded to the 1000 block of Mansfield Avenue for a foul odor coming from a vehicle at a tow yard. Detectives responded and located possible human remains. It is currently a death investigation. We do not have information on the owner of the vehicle.”
It was later revealed that the vehicle was registered to d4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke.
d4vd is reportedly aware of the situation and is cooperating fully with the authorities.
His spokesperson previously mentioned that though the singer is currently on tour, he is “fully cooperating with the authorities.”
The deceased was identified as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas.
Rivas went missing in April 2024 at the age of 13. A missing persons flyer described her as 5ft 3, weighing 120 pounds, with brown eyes and dark brown hair. Her last known location was near Lake Elsinore in California.
The identification followed an announcement by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, who described the body as a female approximately 5ft 2 with wavy black hair.
TMZ reported that Rivas’s mother mentioned her daughter had a boyfriend named Dave before she vanished and noted that both she and d4vd share a tattoo on their right index finger that says ‘Shhh’.
Currently, the circumstances surrounding Rivas’s death remain unknown. Authorities have, however, indicated that she may have been deceased for some time.
The LAPD commented: “At this time, the LAPD does not have a crime classification from the coroner as to the mode or manner of death. Thus, we do not have any suspect information at this time.”
