Stephen Baldwin has recently spoken about his daughter Hailey Bieber’s journey and achievements, despite past suggestions of familial tensions from Hailey.
The 59-year-old actor, known for films such as The Usual Suspects, typically keeps his thoughts on his 28-year-old daughter private. However, during an appearance on Tori Spelling’s podcast MisSPELLING this week, he openly shared his pride for the model and entrepreneur.
He remarked: “I never talk about her, but my daughter has done the impossible, relatively.”
“But in this day and age, in the last 10 years, it’s not impossible. It’s happened.”
Hailey, the visionary behind the successful makeup and skincare line Rhode, has seen her brand reach significant heights. Baldwin acknowledged his admiration for her success in the digital age, even though he expressed some skepticism about the online financial landscape.
He commented: “It’s like these kinds of successes are happening.”
“And young people are making unbelievable amounts of money on the Internet in ways that are very sketchy.”
He concluded with a straightforward blessing for Hailey: “So, God bless her.”
Besides Hailey, Baldwin is also the father to her older sister, Alaia, 32, with his wife Kennya. His supportive comments follow Hailey’s candid admission of some distance in her family relationships.
In an interview with W magazine in July 2024, she confessed: “I’m not super close with my family at this point in my life because I feel like I’m very independent. I’m my own individual now, and I’ve built my own family.”
Yet, she reflected fondly on her upbringing, saying: “But when I look back on my childhood and how I grew up, I have very fond, beautiful memories.”
“Obviously, I come from the family that I come from, and I always recognized that that was different.”
Following this interview, Baldwin shared a mysterious video on Instagram that many interpreted as a message for Hailey. The clip featured him looking into the camera, giving a slight smile, and saying: “I love you,” before shifting his gaze and smirking again.
Baldwin has previously expressed affection for his children’s lives. Just a few months ago, in July, he praised his son-in-law, Justin Bieber. Amid rumors about Justin and Hailey possibly parting ways, Baldwin stated on an episode of The Adam Carolla Show on YouTube that he felt ‘blessed’ as both his daughters had ‘married two great guys’, from around the 49:10 mark.
While Baldwin typically keeps his feelings private, his recent remarks provide insight into his perspective on Hailey’s accomplishments, despite her indications of familial friction.
