Trump Asserts US is ‘Under Internal Invasion’ in ‘Unhinged’ Address to Military Chiefs

Donald Trump has stirred reactions by outlining significant initiatives for the nation that involve utilizing the military. Trump has emphasized that the military will be central to his future plans for the United States.

In a speech delivered on Tuesday (September 30) to military leaders, Trump claimed that the US faces an internal conflict, positioning himself as the solution to the nation’s challenges. He explained his intention to refocus the military’s efforts to support domestic law enforcement and commended the National Guard troops stationed in D.C.

This refers to the actions taken back in August when 1,700 National Guard soldiers were deployed across the country, mainly to aid ICE and the Department of Homeland Security. Trump also criticized cities governed by Democrats, suggesting imminent changes.

He remarked: “They’re very unsafe places, and we’re going to straighten them out one by one.”

“And this is going to be a major part for some of the people in this room. That’s a war, too. It’s a war from within. Controlling the physical territory of our border is essential to national security. We can’t let these people in.”

He claimed the nation faces an ‘invasion from within,’ comments that have sparked unease on social media.

Trump further stated: “After spending trillions of dollars defending the borders of foreign countries, with your help, we’re defending the borders of our country from now on.”

A Twitter user criticized Trump’s remarks as a national embarrassment. They commented: “Are you guys watching this Trump speech to military leaders? It’s a slurring, inane, low energy, rambling, humiliation for the United States.”

Another person expressed their dismay: “I can’t bear to watch, it’s so appalling just from the clips. Surely there will be backlash within the military? Surely????”

A third person labeled him as “AMERICA’s SHAME…..The fact that people around the world are watching this is such a humiliating embarrassment.”

Another user added: “Can’t believe America voted in this crowd to lead the country. You get what you ask for…”

One more simply wrote: “It’s embarrassing.”

In the same speech, Trump hinted at potential threats from Russia and China, asserting that the US maintains a technological edge in nuclear submarines. He declared: “We were a little bit threatened by Russia recently, and I sent a submarine, nuclear submarine, the most lethal weapon ever made.”

He continued: “Number one, you can’t detect it. There’s no way. We’re 25 years ahead of Russia and China in submarines.”

“Frankly, if it does get to use, we have more than anybody else. We have better, we have newer, but it’s something we don’t ever want to even have to think about.”
