Jennifer Lopez confronts interviewer over awkward question regarding Ben Affleck split

Jennifer Lopez recently confronted an interviewer after being posed an awkward question about her divorce from Ben Affleck.

The 56-year-old entertainer filed for divorce in August of the previous year. Following her separation from the two-time Oscar-winning actor, she has shared several insights about their split.

Lopez is currently engaging with the media to promote her latest film, “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” which is an adaptation of the renowned Broadway musical.

Despite their recent separation, Lopez and Affleck collaborated on the film, with Affleck serving as an executive producer.

During her appearance on the Today show on Monday (October 6), Lopez was interviewed by Craig Melvin, who discussed the film’s release and Affleck’s involvement.

Melvin began, “In the middle of filming this elaborate, beautiful musical, your divorce was also finalized with Ben,” prompting Lopez to interject, “There you go! Look at this guy!”

The interviewer mentioned Affleck due to his role in the film’s production, a point Lopez humorously acknowledged before commending her ex-husband.

“If it wasn’t for Ben, the movie wouldn’t have gotten made,” she stated. “And I will always give him that credit.”

Even while working alongside her former spouse, Lopez found that participating in the project aided her through a challenging period.

She explained, “It’s funny, the movie is about escapism. It’s about how movies and art save us in the hardest times of our lives. Doing this project was such a dream come true for me that it really got me through to kind of survive a moment that was difficult in my personal life as well.”

Lopez added, “After [filming] I took some time off and now we’re back. I’m really excited for everybody to see this film. It’s a beautiful film about love.”

In a recent interview with Lee Cowan from CBS, Lopez was questioned on how she handled her personal life alongside her movie commitments.

“Barely! It was tough, it was a tough time – it was a really tough time,” she admitted.

Cowan then inquired if portraying her role offered solace during a tumultuous phase.

“Yes, 100 percent,” Lopez answered immediately.

She elaborated, “It was hard not to think about stuff, but it was like the best and the worst of times in a way, because it was every moment on set and every moment I was doing this role I was so happy.”

“And then it was like back home it was not great and it was just like, oh, you know, how do I reconcile this? But you get through it.”
