“Las Vegas is a city built on hopes, dreams and a bit of crazy.”
This sentiment perfectly encapsulates what two reality TV stars needed as they set a new Guinness World Record for the most casinos visited within a 24-hour period.
On September 25, Joel Strasser and Garrett Smith, both military veterans and close friends from season 35 of Amazing Race, joined forces with Casino.org to break the previous record of 74 casinos visited.
This impressive benchmark was originally set by Kimo Ah Yun and Gary Meyer in October 2017, leaving many to believe it would remain unchallenged.
However, despite the challenges of endurance, stamina, and strict rules, the former members of the Idaho Army National Guard and Military Police Corps proved to be extraordinary competitors. Equipped with a map of Southern Nevada and bicycles as their transportation, the pair embarked on their journey on Thursday morning. They covered an astounding 129.5 miles, not only setting a new record but surpassing the previous one by a significant margin.
According to Guinness World Records guidelines, participants must engage in a game of chance at a table or electronic table game, rather than a slot machine. Strasser and Smith successfully visited 115 different casinos in Las Vegas.
After adjudicator Michael Empric confirmed their achievement, Smith expressed his gratitude: “First of all, we want to thank the sponsors, this is awesome!
“We had a big team that helped us. Thank you, everyone, for all your help!”
Strasser added: “This record was tough. We knew when we decided to undertake it that others had tried and failed.
“We looked at it and said we are going to figure out a way to do this. It was so hard. Thank you so much guys.”
By supporting Strasser and Smith on this daring journey, Casino.org highlighted the excitement of gaming while celebrating the adventurous spirit synonymous with Las Vegas, known as the Entertainment Capital of the World.
Through their collaboration with the duo, Casino.org played a key role in creating a new chapter in both Guinness World Record and gambling history, affirming its status as the premier review site for online casinos and showcasing the joy and narratives that make the casino world truly unforgettable.
