Virginia Giuffre shares why she has no regrets about speaking out on Jeffrey Epstein allegations

Virginia Giuffre has articulated in her new memoir the reasons she does not regret speaking out about the alleged abuse by Jeffrey Epstein.

Giuffre passed away by suicide at her residence in Australia in April this year, aged 41. She authored “Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice” before her untimely death.

She claimed to have been trafficked by Epstein when she was 17, and also alleged being forced into a sexual encounter with Prince Andrew – a claim the royal has continuously rejected.

In her memoir, Giuffre stated that she went public with her allegations in hopes of preventing similar fates for other victims.

In the final chapter of her book, Giuffre expressed: “I don’t regret it, but the constant telling and retelling has been extremely painful and exhausting. With this book, I seek to free myself from my past.”

In 2008, Epstein pleaded guilty to state charges of soliciting prostitution and soliciting prostitution with a minor under 18, resulting in an 18-month jail term.

By 2019, Epstein faced charges of sex trafficking minors and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of minors.

Epstein was discovered dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, New York City, in August 2019.

Accusations involving Andrew emerged in 2015 through court documents related to Epstein, leading to the former Duke of York settling with Giuffre in 2022 after she filed a civil lawsuit against him.

Giuffre mentioned in her memoir that the over $12 million she received from her settlement with Andrew was directed towards the Reclaim (Soar) foundation, aiming to combat human and sex trafficking, as reported by the Independent.

“I look forward to disseminating some of the Crown’s money to do some good,” Giuffre wrote in her memoir.

She dedicated the book to ‘my Survivor Sisters and to anyone who has suffered sexual abuse’.

Before the memoir’s release on Tuesday, October 21, Andrew announced he would relinquish his royal titles.

“I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life,” Andrew stated in a release on Friday, October 17.

“With His Majesty’s agreement, we feel I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honors which have been conferred upon me,” he continued.

“As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me,” Andrew reiterated.
