Jennifer Lawrence is known for her candid nature, especially when it comes to discussing Hollywood’s notorious events. Recently, she didn’t hesitate to bring up one of the industry’s most well-known cheating scandals during a conversation.
Lawrence quickly broached the topic with Robert Pattinson, her co-star in the forthcoming psychological black comedy-drama, “Die My Love.” In this film, they portray a young couple experiencing significant life transitions.
Many recall the events of 2012, and Lawrence, 35, was curious to discuss Pattinson’s past, specifically his relationship with “Twilight” co-star Kristen Stewart and the cheating scandal that captured public attention.
Stewart and Pattinson were regarded as Hollywood’s ideal couple after they met during the filming of the “Twilight” series. However, their relationship ended in 2012 following Stewart’s admission of an affair with Rupert Sanders, the director of “Snow White and the Huntsman.”

During an appearance on “The Graham Norton Show” on Friday, October 17, Lawrence was asked if she and Pattinson shared any common ground, given their involvement in successful movie franchises. Lawrence gained fame for her role as Katniss Everdeen in “The Hunger Games.”
She revealed that she inquired about the infamous scandal, specifically Donald Trump’s involvement in the media frenzy. “If you think I didn’t ask him about Donald Trump tweeting about the breakup with Kristen? I mean, obviously,” Lawrence quipped.
Referring to the moment when photos emerged of Stewart and Sanders sharing a kiss, Lawrence recalled Trump’s comments. The former president had advised Pattinson not to reconcile with Stewart, tweeting, “She cheated on him like a dog & will do it again—just watch. He can do much better!”
At that time, Sanders was married to Liberty Ross, who subsequently filed for divorce. Stewart issued a public apology to Pattinson, acknowledging the ‘hurt and embarrassment’ she caused, and described the kiss as a ‘momentary indiscretion.’
Sanders also expressed remorse, stating he was ‘utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family.’
Although Stewart and Pattinson briefly rekindled their romance, they eventually ended things in 2013.
Lawrence pointed out that her curiosity was purely inquisitive, with no judgment intended. She stated, “Young people make mistakes.”

Over a decade later, both Pattinson and Stewart have moved on. Stewart married screenwriter Dylan Meyer, while Pattinson got engaged and welcomed a child with English singer Suki Waterhouse.
In an interesting twist, “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke shared that she and Stewart ‘crashed’ Pattinson’s 37th birthday party in 2023. Speaking on Josh Horowitz’s “Happy, Sad, Confused” podcast, Hardwicke recounted, “I kind of crashed with my friend Toni Collette. And then Kristen crashed it too!”
Reflecting on the event, she added, “We all hugged each other, like, ‘This is so crazy and cool.’ I see them both at parties, events and everything, they’re both lovely.”
