Russell Crowe has denied rumors that he is set to marry again, despite speculation that he and his girlfriend are engaged.
The actor, renowned for roles in films such as Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind, and Robin Hood, is in a relationship with Britney Theriot. The couple made their relationship public in 2020 and have since been seen together at various high-profile events.
During the summer at Wimbledon, Theriot, 33, was seen wearing a significant ring on her finger, leading to engagement rumors with Crowe, who is 61.
However, Crowe has addressed these rumors and discussed his feelings on marriage.
“All these reports coming out that Britney and I are engaged and I’m going to get married again — no,” Crowe clarified to Karl Stefanovic on 60 Minutes Australia.
He continued: “We are very, very good friends and we have a wonderful relationship. My life is so joyous and happy at the moment. Why would I ruin that with a wedding?”
Crowe also reflected on his previous marriage to Danielle Spencer, which began in 2003 and ended in separation in 2012. Their divorce was finalized in 2018, and they have two sons, Charles, 21, and Tennyson, 19.
“I’ve been married once, and I know where that can go and how it can go,” Crowe stated, adding: “I don’t need to go to that place.”
When Stefanovic questioned Crowe about his romantic side, Crowe maintained that being in a committed relationship without marriage can still be fulfilling. He noted that he and Theriot share a close bond.
“I’m very happy, mate,” Crowe reiterated to the broadcaster, making it clear he has no intention of marrying again.
“Doing it once is cool, but I don’t want to get married again,” he emphasized.

Although marriage isn’t on the horizon for Crowe, he did hint at possibly taking a step back from the film industry.
Speaking at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival in 2023, Crowe remarked: “You are standing in front of the mirror, and go: ‘Who the fuck is that?’ I am in that period now.
“I will take Ridley Scott as my role model: he is still discovering new things in his work. Or I will just stop and you will never hear from me again.”
Nevertheless, Crowe remains active in the industry, with upcoming projects including The Last Druid and Highlander, and his latest film, Nuremberg, set for release on November 7.
