The CEO of McDonald’s has recently shared his top picks from the menu, highlighting his go-to item and a surprisingly overlooked dessert.
A report by Numerator last year showed that an astounding 87 percent of American households had visited McDonald’s at least once over the course of a year, according to the Irish Star.
McDonald’s menu has its fans among celebrities like President Donald Trump, Selena Gomez, and Paris Hilton, each having their preferred meals.
But what about those on the inside? McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski has shed light on his favorites in a new interview.
Chris Kempczinski, who took over as president and CEO in November 2019, shared a brief video on his LinkedIn and Instagram titled the ‘Menu Item Tournament’ last week to discuss his menu preferences.
The concept was that Kempczinski would reveal his favorite menu items, ultimately leading to a champion being named.
He first compared the Egg McMuffin with the renowned Big Mac from the breakfast offerings.
Initially leaning towards the Egg McMuffin, Kempczinski, originally from Massachusetts, opted for fries over both the McCrispy and the Filet-O-Fish.
Faced with a choice between fries and Chicken McNuggets, he selected the nuggets.
He then chose nuggets over McCrispy Strips but eventually picked a soft-serve vanilla ice cream cone.

The vanilla cone was the champion for a round in the ‘Menu Item Tournament’, with Kempczinski favoring it over an Apple Pie.
However, the Quarter Pounder with Cheese soon replaced the cone in the standings, finishing in second place.
The winner was ultimately the Snack Wrap, sparking reactions to Kempczinski’s choice.
“The snack wrap is legit. I had a phase of eating lots of these while traveling,” remarked a LinkedIn commenter.

Another user chimed in: “You had me at QPC – but Snack wrap for the win!”
“I’m definitely playing this with my sisters. Long live the snack wrap, but I miss the grilled chicken ranch version. Can I get an AMEN,” added another.
However, not all agreed with Kempczinski’s picks, with one user expressing, “You lost me at Big Mac.”
Another questioned: “WHERE THE MCGRIDDLE AT CHIEF??”
The Snack Wrap, a former menu staple, was removed in 2016 after a decade of availability.
Due to popular demand, it made its return in July 2025, now offered in Spicy or Ranch varieties.
