Congress has unveiled revealing emails involving Jeffrey Epstein, in which the convicted sex offender suggested that Donald Trump was aware of his ‘conduct.’
Epstein, a wealthy financier, had socialized with many influential figures globally, but was ultimately exposed for trafficking underage girls for sex.
In 2008, he managed to avoid prison through a contentious plea deal, but was arrested again in July 2019 on new federal charges.
Shortly after, Epstein was found dead in his Manhattan jail cell while on ‘suicide watch.’ Officials later ruled his death a suicide.
Though Trump and Epstein once shared a friendship, their relationship reportedly deteriorated in the early 2000s. According to Trump, this was due to Epstein hiring his employees.
“He took people that work for me, and I told him, ‘Don’t do it any more’. And he did it. I said, ‘Stay the hell out of here’,” Trump previously mentioned to the media.
Trump has consistently denied any knowledge of Epstein’s criminal activities.
However, these recently disclosed emails, spanning from 2008 to 2019, may provide new insights into the matter.
In one email dated April 2011, Epstein informed Ghislaine Maxwell: “I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is Trump,” noting that a victim ‘spent hours at my house with him, he has never once been mentioned.’
“I have been thinking about that,” Ms. Maxwell responded.
Contact has been made with The White House for comment on the matter.
Further updates are anticipated.
