Donald Trump had some candid words for those who find his wife Melania’s speeches more engaging than his own.
The president was speaking at a White House event on November 13, which centered around the signing of an executive order related to foster care.
Initially, Melania took the stage to discuss her initiatives to assist children aging out of the foster care system.
The “Fostering the Future” bill aims to establish an online platform to connect foster children with educational and career resources. It will also provide funding through vouchers and grants.
Melania remarked, “This executive order, Fostering the Future for American children and families, gives me tremendous pride. It is both empathetic and strategic. It will certainly be impactful.”
She continued, “It aims to establish a comprehensive network connecting federal departments and agencies, private sector businesses, higher learning institutions and charitable organizations.”
Donald Trump praised his wife during his own speech, lauding her ability to speak “five languages at least” and admitted, “I think that’s pretty amazing. I can’t – I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t do it.”

Trump seemed to acknowledge the warmer reception Melania received compared to himself.
He further praised her by saying, “Our country is truly blessed to have this magnificent and very caring first lady. They love her.”
He humorously mentioned the frequent preference for Melania’s speeches over his own.
“Every time I get up and make a speech, they say we want our First Lady,” he quipped. “I say what the hell, I’m not good enough?”

After his speech, Trump proceeded to sign the executive order and invited Melania to sign it as well, which is not a common practice for a first lady.
The White House noted that Melania played a significant role in securing a $25 million investment, which is intended to provide housing support as children transition out of the foster system.
Advocating for children’s welfare has remained a priority for Melania since her return to the White House.
She has also taken a stand against Russian president Vladimir Putin, publicly condemning the abduction of Ukrainian children during Russia’s invasion.
Since then, Melania has initiated conversations with Putin, resulting in the reunion of eight Ukrainian children with their families.
